Obama watched Fox and decided

Breitbart transcript. (video at the link)
I think that the effort to suggest that the poor are sponges, leeches, don’t want to work, are lazy, are undeserving, got traction. And look, it’s still being propagated. I have to say that if you watch Fox News on a regular basis, it is a constant venue. They will find folks who make me mad. I don’t know where they find them. They’re all like, “I don’t want to work. I just want a free Obama Phone, or whatever.” And that becomes an entire narrative that gets worked up. And very rarely do you hear an interview of a waitress, which is much more typical — who is raising a couple of kids and doing everything right but still can’t pay the bills.
And so, if we’re going to change how Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) think, we’re going to have to change how our body politic thinks, which means we’re going to have to change how the media reports on these issues, and how people’s impressions of what it’s like to struggle in this economy looks like. And how budgets connect to that. And that’s a hard process because that requires a much broader conversation than typically we have on the nightly news.
May I suggest Fox implement an Obama Mad Index. Fair, Balanced and a little Afraid.

Oh, we need another "conversation"?

That's Democrat for, "We talk, you obey".

And if His Poutiness had ever spent any time around Americans, he'd know people have been mad about this since the 50s.

Does the left really have anything to say anymore? They seemed to have run out of material 100 years ago, and despite getting to try nearly every "solution" they wanted in the meantime, they are still blaming some silly straw man stuffed with cash for all their failure.

Poverty can be due to either bad luck, or much more often sloth and bad decisions, but regardless of what their actual reason may be for their poverty, leading people to blame bad luck and believe salvation lies in handouts is just cruel, stupid, and often racist. Fox is the only one not doing that.

Even more disgusting is that leftists who push this bad-luck-cured-through- handouts bullshit would never except that excuse from their own kids. They would give them the Fox message themselves loud and clear, because they love their children and care about what happens to them. Everyone else should feel unlucky and collect a check.

As always, watch what people do in their own lives and you see what they really believe. It's always Fen's Law.

Hey Urkel, the fact that you would chastise Fox News and they found people that made you mad at your policies says what? It means your policies are a failure you idiot. They are condemning you, not the poor. They see what your policies have done to them and are highlighting that you fool.

The president watches nothing but Sportscenter and Sports on TV with, apparently, a dash of Fox News too. I suspect Fox News is giving him high blood pressure. So thank God for Fox News.

Obama has to be one of the dumbest presidents ever.

I think Obama is even dumber than Joe Biden.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck.”

― Robert A. Heinlein

Many times "bad luck" = "bad choices".

It's all based in luck: where you are born, who are your parents, how you are raised, your intelligence and natural talents, and even your inate level of motivation and personal drive. All luck of the genetic draw. You choose none of it.

BUT, you can ruin a lucky person's opportunity with bad messages, and ruin the opportunity of a less lucky one just as well. Freedom makes us all luckier, and the left's message and policies hurt everyone, lucky or not. It's like increasing the house's odds in blackjack by requiring 50% each player win be returned to the house. Even the lucky can't win in that game.
