Axelrod: There's been no major scandal in Obama White House

Laundry list of scandals during Obama's six years includes Operation Fast and Furious, IRS targeting conservative nonprofit groups, Justice Department snooping on reporters
State Department was slammed for bungling that led to the 2012 Benghazi terror attack, and alleged cover-ups afterward
Healthcare.gov website's follies made for late-night TV jokes during its botched rollout and immigration executive actions have brought lawsuits
National Security Agency was pilloried for a global eavesdropping program that included Americans' computers and foreign leaders' cellphones
Bowe Bergdahl 5-for-1 Taliban trade drew catcalls from both sides of the political aisle

Other than that... How was the play Mrs. Lincoln?

David Axelrod

I guess he's right when Axelrod says there's been no major scandal, meaning there hasn't been just one catastrophic scandal that defines Obama's presidency and compels his resignation.

Well done, Mr. President, well done!

Well, unlike Bill Clinton, Obama has managed to keep his pecker in his pants.

Winning!

All real scandals if we had a real press.

Despite the scandals, despite Obama's refusal to call Islamic terrorists Islamic terrorists, despite all that Gallup reports that his approval ratings have risen back to 50%. The link is at Drudge. I hate it when commenters write "We are doomed," but if half of America still approves his job performance...maybe we are.

The apologists are already out in full.

I have a theory on that 50% approval: Gas prices.

Somehow, through complete ignorance, the president gets the blame or the credit for gas prices.

If you can get away with it like Obama has because he has the sycophantic media in his back pocket, then he wins and there is nothing to see.

I've probably quoted Bill Clinton's presumably insightful assessment of Obama's political skills before, "He's luckier than a dog with two dicks."

No fair Lem to make the thread winning remark in the text of the original post!!

"There's been no major scandal in Obama White House ..."

[Finish this sentence]

"that's been reported."
"as far as you know."
"that I can talk about without jeopardizing the lives of my family."
"other than [pulls out and begins reading lengthy multi-page list]."
"that's like what you see on West Wing. We totally went off script."
"and by 'major scandal' I mean one involving me, David Axelrod."
"and by 'in' I mean actually occurring only 'inside' the White House."
"and by 'White House' I mean the coat closet next to the servant's entrance."
"and by 'there' I mean look over there, squirrel!"

As he said. No major scandals.

Not everything that makes a con paranoid is a scandal. The list would be too long.

As it is in the post.

Why are connies profiling other connies for tax evasion wrong? It's simply fitting the profile. Would you have a problem with white police chiefs if their black policemen racially profiled young black men? No, you wouldn't. And you think failing to profile Muslims for terrorism is the biggest sin of all.

Someone should convince me that connies aren't more likely tax cheats, if they really believe it's wrong to profile them. As it stands, based on their rhetoric and ideology, I can't think of a more likely tax evader.

The list is just a showcase of conservative paranoia and failure to reckon with the consequences of their priorities.

Facts, R&B. We need facts. Your intimations of anecdotes don't cut it.

I'm fine with facts. Does anyone have any on this? Would you accept the results if they pointed to connies? The profiling IRS agents were themselves connies so what do you know that they don't?

chickelit said...

I'd be fine with factual analysis of whether "connies" are or aren't more likely tax cheats. A corollary question is whether "connies" or "dhemmies" are more likely to cheat taxes according to income.

This could blow a lot of stereotypes out of the water.

chickelit said...

Greece for example is notorious for cheating taxes. Is Greece "connie" or dhemmie"?

Which US states have the highest rates per capita of tax evasion? Maybe there's a red state/blue state correlation.

Hey, it's a start!

Leftwingers never lie. Here in my town all sorts of prog leftwinger neo - fascists pretended to be "connies" in order to cheat the vote.

There were multiple eye-witnesses and there is all sorts of proof that this goes on.

Leftwingers lie. It's what they do.
