"Japan airport opens pod hotel..."

"... where guests have NINE HOURS per booking (that's an hour to shower, seven to sleep and one to relax)"

"The sci-fi '9h nine hours' hotel at Narita Airport, Tokyo, is more like a honeycomb than a honeymoon suite. Rows of sleeping capsules line the building plus locker rooms, showers and a lounge. The bizarre accommodation is just perfect for passengers boarding early morning flights or arriving late by car."

We are only missing the elusive flying cars.

For a small fee, you can sleep in the trunk of my car.

There is a Sci-Fi short story (whose title I can't recall) that posits the Earth being invaded by giant Praying-Mantis type insects who, like bees, encapsulate humans in honey-comb like pods and seal them in for a food supply. Every time I see an article about those Japanese pod hotels/sleeprooms (most are for workers) I always think of that story. (shudder)

Oh, great! Now I see that Lem wants to cut in on my scheme with that new found Uber stuff!

Not a new thing. This one has been around since 1979.

I'd guess that the trunk of AllenS's car would be more comfortable....so long as he left the trunk lid open.

Also in the pilot of the original "Battlestar Galactica".
