Hope he remembered to wipe his shoes on the welcome mat as he stepped over the line.
Know what frosts my rosie-red derrier? An ex-Marine who fought honorably in our foreign wars as directed by our present CinC has to be trundled home wearing an ill-fitting plain jump-suit in a private jet paid for by good samaritans rather than honored by a Presidential directed return flight on a USAF jet wearing full dress uniform with all medals, to be met at the airport by a Marine General and/or a Navy Admiral--representatives of the heads of the Commandant of the USMC and Chief, Naval Operations--the commands under which he served. That's the way our Vietnam POWs were transported back to the US to meet their loved ones--this guy deserves no less. A White-House ceremony for the parents of a deserter, but *crickets" from the WH about the return of someone who served in combat honorably and WITH DISTINCTION.
Words CANNOT express the depths of my loathing for the present occupant of 1600 Pennslyvania Ave.
I'm glad he's back of course, but I heard yesterday that he had THREE loaded guns in the car. I understand having one, but three LOADED? What kind of party was he expecting wherever he was headed?
I can't see the point in, oh, three loaded pistols. But I suppose I can see the point in loading a pistol, a rifle, and a shotgun. That way you haven't limited your options.
Also, and maybe someone with current knowledge of military protocols knows the answer, it's possible that "keep all weapons loaded" is a Marine protocol and therefore might have simply been done by habit.
OTOH, "getting lost" is sort of embarrassing. That doesn't mean it's not what happened, just that it's sort of embarrassing.
