KLEM FM

The song isn't associated with any particular Who album because it belonged to an aborted effort called "Lifehouse," as did the bulk of that band's "Who's Next."

I am intrigued with aborted efforts...take for example the Asteroid Belt which in a sense represents an aborted planet -- matter which failed to accrete into a planet. It was once thought to be a shattered or destroyed planet, but that theory has been discredited.

By the way there is a fascinating story behind the discovery of Ceres, the largest asteroid. It was sought and found because another discredited theory (Bode's Law) predicted its existence.

Song lyrics after the jump
When you hear this sound a comin', hear the drummers drummin'
I want you to join together with the band
We don't move in any 'ticular direction and we don't make no collections
I want you to join together with the band

Do you really think I care what you read or what you wear?
I want you to join together with the band
There's a million ways to laugh and everyone's a path
Come on and join together with the band

Everybody join together, I want you to join together
Come on and join together with the band
We need you to join together, come on and join together
Come on and join together with the band

You don't have to play and you can follow or lead the way
I want you to join together with the band
We don't know where we're going but the season's right for knowing
I want you to join together with the band

It's the singer not the song that makes the music move along
I want you to join together with the band
This is the biggest band you'll find, it's as deep as it is wide
Come on and join together with the band

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, well everybody come on
Come on and join, join together with the band
We need you to join together, everybody come on
Hey, hey, hey, join together with the band

Calling something a planet miscarriage vs. a planet abortion carries the same nuanced difference as it does on earth.

There is a wonderful video of the mapping of our galactic neighborhood. I wanted to post it but the code is not being shared.

In my internet travels, looking for that dragons (clean creatures) vs. monsters (not so clean creatures) song of my youth, I found "Walt Disney's Merriest Songs" and "Walt Disney's Happiest Songs," both distributed by Gulf stations.

The dragon song is on neither, so far as I can tell.

Disappointing, but hey!, I found something nifty as I sailed across the vast oceans of the interwebs.

And it blew my mind.

Bringing Home the Oil.

Man, were things different back in those days!
