(1) That's quite the coincidence. I was listening to that song just the other day down in the basement during a workout. It was a version done by Sam Butera and the Wildest, though, in tribute to Louis Prima.
I got it at an Atlantic City casino about 25 years ago, maybe Resorts International.
When we got off the chartered bus they gave each of us $10 to play the slots. I figured the money would be better spent on one of the cassette tapes being sold by the band playing in the lounge.
Hadn't listened to that recording for 20 years.
(2) There's a line from "No Sugar Tonight" by The Guess Who: "You're tripping back now to places you've been to, you wonder what you're gonna find."
Eric, I was in Resorts the first year it opened. You had to wear a tie and jacket and had to wait in line to get into the casino. It was the only one open. Getting to a craps or blackjack table was insane.
Every time I hear Louis Prima I think if the great flick, Big Night.

The song is from around 1950 and sounds like the whole band was recorded with one microphone. That's part of its charm.
My parents had this vinyl LP when I was a kid. Loved it!

It's been kind of like that.
