One time there was this guy in the stands at the sidewall -- a fully grown man -- who was really obnoxious to the ball girl in insisting she give him a foul ball, and she went way out of her way, maybe 20 feet or so, to avoid him and give the ball to some little kid.
The guy must have felt entitled to the ball because he leaned way over the wall and reached into the play area to snag it, but it was low, and it bounced off the wall and he just barely missed it, and he was all to the ballgirl: "THAT'S MINE!!!"
She's very good at looking rueful and sincerely regretful.. Politicians, especially Hillary Clinton, could learn a great deal by studying her body language and facial expressions and incorporating them into their delivery.
Felt bad for her. Bang bang play, she let her instincts take over and made the play. 97% chance it was a double anyway. At least she didn't cry. "There's no crying in baseball."

No way that ball was going to miss that sidewall.
She made no error.
Good pick!
Sign her up for the Cubs!

Saw it on TV and it felt like justice.

Drop dead, loser.
Unforced error, but she kept it together and graciously threw the ball into the stands.

If you read her lips she says "I'm probably going to get fired."
That would be too bad.
Why would it be a pity for her to get fired for incompetence? I'm sure there's a long list of girls who'd like that job, and who might not fuck it up.

True enough. And who knows what would happen for her if she were fired? Nobody on Earth can predict that stuff.
I favor the ballgirl over the corporate office, but I don't really know if it would be a pity or not.
