The air traffic controller continued trying to explain the pilot made a mistake, but the pilot just scolded him for his attitude. He said, “I make a mistake every two to three minutes but my attitude is not like yours. We’re out on Mike and you didn’t tell us how to get there, so next time you can try doing that.”
It’s at that point that someone says, “Settle down, Captain Happy.”

That pilot is a dick, and very unprofessional. He's gonna wish that day never happened.
I'm amazed at what controllers can do handling all that info and directing so many planes at once. I mean how many people simultaneously have their lives in one controller's hands. That is the job of a demigod. Imagine if a terrorist got into that job.
I never had a radio in the plane so all this never happened to me.
Also I flew only at irrational altitudes. There are so many more irrational altitudes than rational ones that the odds of a collision are zero.
Wouldn't you have loved to have heard that and been on that flight...maybe it is a good thing they don't let passengers listen to the cockpit banter.
Conversing with that captain is about the same as fighting with Ritmo.
Both project their own behavior onto their interlocutor, then they go in for the kill.
What the heck are irrational altitudes?
Go in for the kill
Go in for the kill
I wanna be a part of it
Go in for the kill
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
Go in for the kill kill kill kill kill
Well, I'm really depressed today because I was on the verge of buying a house out west and selling my upstate NY house, I mean really really on the verge, all papers signed...and I chickened out. Stupid. So I'm down in the dumps. Does the world care? Of course not. Nor should it.
Brock buck buck buck buck, brock buck buck buck buck, I meant to say, why did you chicken out? Out of your comfort zone or what?
I chickened out because I'm a chicken. Convinced myself that the new home wasn't "perfect," had drawbacks. Which of course it did. But so what? You might know the town, Chip, Hotchkiss, Colorado. All that sunshine. And mild winters, considering it's in the Rockies, well, western slope. Now my cowardice keeps me stuck in cold, wet, dreary upstate NY. Curses. On me.
Speaking of insanity, I just receive an e-mail solicitation to contribute to the career of Crack from none other than that dumb SOB, Meade.
Yesterday I gassed up in Walsenberg Colorado. Pretty much an old hippie town reinventing itself as a tourist dope destination. Maybe that's why you want to move to Hotchkiss. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
After filling the tank I had to wait in line for 4 guys buying red rope licorice. That stuff gives you a major sweet tooth.
Dope doesn't interest me in the least. Loved the fact that Hotchkiss is in high dry country but is not freezing cold in winter like Gunnison.
ricpic, let it go. There will be other houses and opportunities.
Upstate New York is nice in the summer. The long winter is as dreary as it can get. My son discovered in Ithaca that Cornell and IC students solve the problem with alcohol. When he moved out, the largest category of trash in the dumpsters and recycling bins near his dorm was liquor bottles. I was shocked. Other parents just shrugged. "It's Ithaca."
It's college.
My nephew is preparing to shove off to up-state NY. Rochester University. Colo's relatively mild winters are going to seem like a fond and distant memory.
We get the cold and we get the storms, but we also enjoy 60 degree teasers that take the edge off. Up there I hear it remains cold and the sun becomes a myth. eh. He'll be inside jamming on his piano and studying, I hope. Thankfully he isn't at all interested in drugs or alcohol. We shall see if that sticks.
What Nick said, ricpic. Think it over a little while longer. There's a lot to be said for a sun-shiney winter. On the other hand if you're leaving relatives you're in good contact with, you might get lonely. On the other hand, having relatives out to visit could be fun :)
Ricpic - Don't be so hard on yourself. If the offer seems right, you'll jump. Sometimes these things end up for the best. Hotchkiss is a lovely area - keep trying. There is always another house to buy.
