The tweet has a long list of retweets and responses tonight. Better photo here.
I'm not feeling it.
Notice how artistic, how perfect, how free of vehicles, houses, compositionally disruptive elements, no sense of urgency, no windshield streaks, no car antenna, no people. Rain is perfect. No other services picked up on this. No other report of tornado at Wilcox nor Hildreth that is recent. Although plenty of shots of tornados when searched. The photographer's name does not come up in searches. The photo is too perfect. The photo is actually framable. This is art, and not a tornado caught by chance on the run. BUZZ ding ding ding railroad crossing alarm sounds. I fell like I'm being played.
Man, it did feel exactly like tornado weather today. Low-hanging clouds directly overhead. Thunder cracked immediately above, you can actually see the edges of clouds over buildings, it dumped a bit of rain, then stopped, with no rotation. No need for an umbrella. People stood at bus stops undisturbed. Secure they will dry off in one minute.
It has rained a lot lately, straight down. I cannot even get the plants on the terrace watered by rain because wind, even a breeze, will not bring it in. I still have to go out there and water the plants.

(1) And how did Dorothy's curtains get on the other side of the window?
(2) I wasn't sure how to spell Dorothy so I googled it and the returns all had to do with "The Wizard of Oz" which kind of surprised me but I learned right away her name was Dorothy Gale without even having to click on anything.
Gale.
That is all.
Gale.
(1) I've mentioned previously about how that Evolutionary Psychology guy talked about adaptive capacities, and mental modules, and agency detectors. I'm sure everyone remembers, right?
Anyway, he talked about how seeing the man in the moon was an example of a false positive that does you no harm from an evolutionary perspective. When you overreact and run like hell because you think there's a tiger in the grass, you won't get your sorry ass shredded nearly as often as thinking the tiger in the grass is just the wind.
My point? I'm going to learn to stop worrying and love the paranoia: I THINK TEH INTERTUBZ CAN REED MAI MINDZ!!!!!
I mean, look at what just happened. My wife recorded last night's episode of Star Trek TOS but this morning she couldn't tell me anything about it except it involved a people called the Solozzians or something and their needing to reproduce.
Well, that's a problem that needs to be solved, baby!!! The DVR says the episode's entitled "Wink of an Eye" and so I go to Bing and type in only so much as "wink of ".
And get this, the very first pop-down suggestion is "wink of an eye" so I'm all like "what the fuck, might as well click on it."
That's right. You guessed it. First hit is the Star Trek episode "Wink of an Eye" on wikipedia.
I'm mean, come on. How the fuck does that happen unless something can hear my thoughts?
(2) FUN FACT: The part of Deela in "Wink of an Eye" was played by Kathie Browne who was in lots of TV stuff and married to Darren McGavin, who never, ever appeared in an episode of Bewitched so far as I know.
(3) BONUS THINGIE: It turns out that the Scoliosisians in "Wink of an Eye" need the crew of the Enterprise to reproduce because their men are all shooting blanks, so here's a photo of the ever-virile Captain Kirk blasting the comely and nubile (in a humanoid alien kind of way) Deela with a face-full of his super-potent super-seed. CLICK FOR THE MONEY SHOT.
(4) The same phenomenon just described also occurred when searching for the proper spelling of Dorothy, above, in case anyone was wondering, which goes a fair way toward explaining another sort of phenomenon but a man has to stop somewhere so that is all.
the baby is so cute.
wink of stella brush markers
The cyclone scene gives so many clues of a dream, all her family and friends fly past the window waving at Dorothy and having a good time unfazed by being inside a tornado, the harsh woman on a bicycle turns into a witch, as dreams change in an instant.
I missed all that as a child.
And it made me think that is what it really is like inside a tornado. Not a bunch of sharp things flying around that will kill you. I thought it would be fun.
It's actually a sweet tender movie, but that witch and those flying monkeys scared the living piss out of me. I was terrified !
Dad had us all lined up on the sofa to watch it. I wonder why he thought that was appropriate.
Didn't he know a sixteen-year old isn't ready for that kind of crap?
Kidding. I was seven. But still a tremendous scardy cat. And my sisters even younger. They must have screamed and cried. I don't remember their fuss. They always fussed.
Brilliant as usual Chip. You are a master at these.
Cool markers deborah! Definitely worth a look and a ;)
As for Eric the Fruit Bat's intertube observations, what one sees can also blow you over and sometimes away!
Yep,another Brilliant Chip post.
I remember seeing the Wizard of Oz as a little kid and telling my elder brother that the 3 characters on the farm were the same 3 in the dream. I was very proud of myself for figuring that out.
My elder brother called me an idiot. But I knew I was super-smart anyway.
I say it is... a good fake.
