I love to cook. I love to cook much more than I actually cook these days, but in the meantime I am saving recipes. This picture and recipe from the Crepes of Wrath blog makes my mouth water.
I like to cook too - but I'm not very good. I want it fast, cheap, and easy and to taste good. Impossible. So I compromise, mostly with the "taste good" part.
I am the household cook, but I am 90% a servant to recipes...so please continue, Darcy. I don't dream up stuff...just not that creative. I am looking at you Chicken Little ... you both delight me and piss me off :-))
MY best resource is an original edition of the "Joy of Cooking." All others are supplementary...and I have about 4 feet bookshelf wise of supplements. Plus my recipe notes shoved between the books.
I do write down or get the cook to write down a recipe for a sauce or primary dish that I like in an addictive manner.
Please join Chick in posting a cooked food blog of some kind, at least now and then, here. I'm sure Lem won't object...I think he likes good food as much as I do.
I'll have a few family recipes to share as soon as I make them. I want to have a pic to go with.
@Aridog One of the cookbooks I've enjoyed immensely is Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The Chicken Fricasee is one of the best dishes I've ever made or tasted. It's pretty labor intensive, but worth it!
My second favorite recipe from that book is her Chicken Breasts with Mushroom and Cream sauce.
I love your memory, chick. (Wow, blast from the past) Yes, I did try it and loved it. Now I have the link to it, which I'd lost track of. I'm better organized now.

Well Darcy, now you just started a little Sunday afternoon dustup.
I like livin' on the edge, John.
I'm glad that Darcy loves to cook.
I cook, sometimes, but I don't love it.
To me it's a chore.
Unless I'm drinking, in which case it's somewhat less of a chore.
Uh, John...I'd like Chick's macaroni dish fine if he used RIPE jalpenos...but green ones, nope. Red = ripe. Green = not done yet.
So Darcy wins with the chicken and mushrooms. Provided I get to vet the "wild" mushrooms as not Amanita phalloides.
They say everything sounds better in Italian:
Limone Pollo arrosto con funghi porcini
Isn't the fungi part a bit unappetizing?
Does it taste as good as it looks?

"Cooking with Darcy; recipes" is probably the most intriguing new tag to show here recently.
Please continue.

Can I get an Amen?!

I'd need a bigger plate. Looks delish.
Thanks, you guys!

Please let me know if that balance ever gets out of whack.
@Darcy: Did you ever try that hollandaise sauce recipe I wrote up for you here?
