Labels: Alice Cooper, EPR, Is this post sexist?

What would it take for someone to have a grievance that you wouldn't resent them for? Or is the tag no longer being used ironically?

During my sojourn in Switzerland, I met a chemist who theorized that women lived longer on average because they bled regularly. It sounds medieval, like blood letting, but I wondered if you could supply a few facts to destroy that hypothesis.

Oh and there's iron in blood and in irony.

And your tone suggests that you're somehow offended, R&B. Whatever for?

I don't feel really all that offended. I just notice that tag used a lot, and assume it is being done ironically when so. But maybe it just got to be a habit. I'm really more curious about it, at this stage.

Good notice on blood, iron and irony.

Your chemist friend sounds like he's holding on to the old, long-held view on the efficacy of bleeding, which sounds pretty outdated. We don't use leeches any longer, (although sometimes this was done without leeches).

I think women live longer because they take less risks and they do a better job fixating on ways to cure their mental health and make things easier on themselves. There are other hypotheses (I doubt they're scientific, more pop-psychology) that go along those same lines, but I think that's the basic idea, and makes enough sense to me.

Testosterone takes out bad cells (except in the prostate). But that can backfire. Estrogen wants to save everything. It's more of a growth promoter. (Which is not good news for a body trying to avoid cancer, though).

Leeches are still used to increase blood flow to reattached digits.

Sometimes they mow lawns, too.

Women live longer because they get men to take the risks, do the heavy lifting......and open the pickle jars which is an extremely stressful job :-)

On the other hand, cleaning the toilets and wiping up baby and cat puke isn't a bed of roses either.

I think everything I just wrote was sexist.

I notice that, for some reason, women are enthralled with bodily wastes from infants and toddlers.

Men just think farts are funny. They seem a little cleaner, though.

This has led to an interesting situation where my brother's 3 & 1/2 year old now competes for laughs with whatever non-solid reactions he can get from his ass.

I have faith it will be a self-limiting thing.
