Gone Riding

Mrs. Haz and I headed out this morning on a motorcycle ride through fifteen states.  It's the first long ride of the summer, and we've been waiting all winter for it to begin.  The weather will be chilly the first few days, but since we are heading south and then west, we'll soon be in warm weather.

I won't be around here very much for a while, but I will be blogging the trip here.

Victory cruiser! Cool.

I remain a Harley guy. Dirt road out to the highway has finally firmed up enough that I can get the old girl out for a ride.

The Dawgz are playing a biker rally in July. Always love to play for the biker boys.

Ride Safe!

Take care and enjoy the road trip in the wind.

Oh, and stay in touch via your blog. What states are on your itinerary?

Godspeed, Haz. Maybe the ice will even be gone at the cabin when you get back!

Ari - WI, IL, IA, KY, TN, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA, TX, OK, AK, and MS. This trip covers the states in the south where I haven' t ridden. Later on I'll rid e afew western states and parts of New England, and I'll have ridden in 49 states and most Canadian provinces.

Not sure how I'll check Hawaii off the list.

The island of Hawaii has some nice roads - might make sense to fly there then rent a motorcycle. Or load your bike onto your yacht and enjoy a nice sea cruise. That would work...

Awesome plan! Have a great one.

Last time I was there, I noticed a Harley rental place in Kailua-Kona on the big Island of Hawaii. All the way around the island is a great 2 day trip.

Haz & Mrs. Haz -- How far south are you going? Oh! Wait! I see it below. How can you go to TN and not come to the beautiful NC mountains?

Come by and see us! Tickets to the Biltmore House on us and you can check out the local brew spots.

Ride safe. (And may the other guy always see you.)

RE Hawaii -- I think it was google -- or was it mapquest? that has the directions to Hawaii include paddling on the map.

As below -- fly out and rent a bike.

Family member stationed there -- we spent a week with a "local" last summer. Lovely.

Michael Haz is our Easy Rider.

Be Safe Out There. There are a lot of shitty drivers on the road and they do not respect motorcycles.

You know, if you put a side-car on that thing, I could go with.

Don't give up. There are various ways to get to Hawaii.

Thanks for all the good wishes!

First day is completed - only four downpours.

JAL - thanks for the offer. We were in your state a few years back, riding the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Will you ride Highway 61 in Mississippi?
