Cate Blanchette should have won an Oscar for her performance as Bob Dylan in "I'm Not There" instead of her performance in "Blue Jasmine."
The clip is lengthy, but I really like the part around 5 minutes when Cate sticks a microphone into Mr. Jones' cage.
The subtitles look Finno-Ugric. Does anyone know for sure?

Is it racist to show video of congresswoman Jackson Lee saying the US constitution is 400 years old?
400 years is a number closely associated with slavery, it must have been what was on her mind, when she got crossed up.
When the catcher calls for a breaking slow pitch and gets the express instead. it's scary funny.
Jackson Lee honors both the constitution of the United States and the destitution of slavery. She crosses in and out of both seamlessly.
1865 - 400 = 1465.

I trace the "400 years" meme that we keep hearing over and over to Public Enemy's "Fight The Power" song lyrics:

That song came out in 1989 and no one has bothered to add the ensuing 25 years. Go figure. Or not:

Although entertaining to see Cate Blanchett playing Bob Dylan (a guy) I think it's too odd or unusual a thought for me to enjoy. Maybe if I keep watching. Or maybe if her voice were lower.
Or maybe if she weren't Cate Blanchett. What a hottie, and talented. Plus, you've seen her playing elf queens, which only dazzles and delights even further.
Respeck for going from that to trying something like this. THat's a hell of a range.
If I weren't so contemptuously afraid of dykes, I might find her attempt at guyish mannerisms a bit more endearing.

Do you think she is better than Meryl Streep?
Not sure. I know Meryl Streep is well regarded by a good number of folks, but I always saw her as being of a generation and level of seriousness above where I was coming from. So I can't even think of a role I saw her in that was memorable to me or made much of an impact.
When did this become TOP. They talk about Dylan there like he's a god or obama or something.

Please ban all future Bob Dylan posts.
I you will do that I promise to stop all future references to Ted Williams frozen head stuck to a tuna fish can.
