I'm retired.

Like a kid on summer vacation.

All I do is play music, sketch and babysit my granddaughter.

I'm gonna keep going till the money runs out.

"Gravity Shackles"

Could one of you Van Morrison heads point me to the song that Beck allegedly riffs?

@Deborah: That song and album meant a lot for Chrissie Hynde because her band survived the loss of two members. I think that's what she meant by the title.

Chick, was this before when she was dating Ray Davies? That could be hard on anyone.

Chicken a la real - I would like to help you out, but that would require that I listen to that mope. I didn't like him even before he stopped using his first name, you know, back when he was in the Yardbirds.

@Sixty: You mean this Beck?

Where we beg to differ...

...instead of differing to beg.

Groovy, baybee!

Meth, the song started out being about her relationship with Davies. (Around the time she was writing the song she was getting knocked up by Davies, or was already knocked up.) But the song ended up being more about the dead guitarists from the group. So speaketh the intertubez, anyway.

And you know, the intertubez never lie.

The Cambodian Midget Fighting League is totally for realz.

Where we beg to differ...

Or beg to defer.

As yet, chickenlittle, your response is the only one that directly answers the question asked. So excellently, in fact, it qualifies for at least a Daily Double, while leaving the question begging for more. Which prompts me to wonder what prompted the question to start with and what answer the questioner might offer in response to her query?

Thanks, everyone :) I'm glad for you, Shout, that's great.

Chick, I think Unchained Melody has to be the best chain song evah.

And I hear somethin' sayin'
(hooh! aah!) (hooh! aah!)
(hooh! aah!) (hooh! aah!)

(Well, don't you know)
That's the sound of chain gang.
All day long they work so hard
'Til the sun is going down

As the guests are thanked and the door of this open thread starts closing, the question asked early on still softly and eerily rattles unanswered in the distance.

What chains bind you?

The same chains that have bound humans since the advent of recorded history; the chains of grief over unacceptable and unacknowledged loss.

“I wear the chain I forged in life....I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it.”

As Morley will attest, the later the hour the more the chains rattle.

Chain of Infection is a non-musical bind linking back to Louis of the Pasteur variety. Which opens the door for a host of other chains that bind and chain reactions.

Understanding the characteristics of each link provides the nurse with methods to support vulnerable patients and to prevent the spread of infection.

Chain of custody. Can be escaped by use of a chain saw.

It would be a good trick to get another chain saw right after you committed the chain saw massacre.
