“Yeah, if you want to be a writer, if you want to be a comedian, if you want to be a camera person, if you want to start a business . . .” In an earlier iteration, Pelosi even suggested that Obamacare would allow people to quit their awful jobs to write poetry."
The poetry of bad news around Obamacare

Everyone that loses a job is forced to stay on the plantation. It is win win for the progressives. People must beg for sustenance. No, they do not give a fuck what color you are, so long as you crawl to daddy.
Spun another way, Minimum Wage increase also increases income inequality for 500,000 workers.
Could you imagine if your job was actually to write poetry 2080 hrs per year? Just shoot me.
Besides if you need more poetry, you can just put 1000 chimpanzees in front of typewriters. As long as nobody knows, it will be critically acclaimed.
If all of that is true, why not raise the minimum wage to $100 an hour? Wouldn't that solve all of our problems?
Anybody got any rhymes for "Nantucket?"
As long as the unwashed poets keep on milling around Union Square and shit and piss in the Tenderloin but stay the hell off Nob Hill and Russian Hill and all the other hills the Pelosi family own most of Nancy's happy with that.
"Anybody got any rhymes for "Nantucket?""
Pawtucket?
Crab bucket?
@Pogo
That was the funniest comment in the history of the internet, and I should know, because I helped Al Gore invent the internet.
I actually Laughed Out Loud!
Pogo rhymes Pawtucket with Nantucket and ST calls that the funniest comment in the history of the internet. You angling for a free bed at the MAYO, ST?
There are apparently people in this world who were not properly edumacated in the fine points of limericks:
There was a man from Nantucket
Whose [bleep] was so long he could [bleep] [bleep]
This is a pretty snazzy, high toned sorta weblog, so I didn't want to just come right out with it.
Bagoh lol
OT: ToP is back to microagression.
"Anybody got any rhymes for "Nantucket?"
See here.
Tan bucket!
@ricpic:
it's a variation of the Monty Python witch scne:
"V: Tell me... what do you do with witches?
P3: Burn'em! Burn them up! (burn burn burn)
V: What do you burn apart from witches?
P1: More witches! (P2 nudge P1)
(pause)
P3: Wood!
V: So, why do witches burn?
(long pause)
P2: Cuz they're made of... wood?
V: Gooood.
(crowd congratulates P2)
V: So, how do we tell if she is made of wood?
P1: Build a bridge out of her!
V: Ahh, but can you not also make bridges out of stone?
P1: Oh yeah...
V: Does wood sink in water?
P1: No
P3: No. It floats!
P1: Let's throw her into the bog! (yeah yeah ya!)
V: What also floats in water?
P1: Bread
P3: Apples
P2: Very small rocks
(V looks annoyed)
P1: Cider
P3: Grape gravy
P1: Cherries
P3: Mud
King: A Duck!"
We know this from all the times Teddy Kennedy wanted a minimum wage hike.
The Chap of Quiddick always wept so for the working poor.
PS Pelosi Galore is Shotgun Joe in drag.
James Joyce was great with puns but his poetry truly sucked. Probably for that very reason. Too playful. How are all those funemployed people going to get serious enough to move me with their blank verse?
Isn't it nice to see people getting a pay raise on the taxpayers dime and they really don't get a say so in it at all? Minimum wages and their respective wage hikes are nothing but as tax on those that make more than minimum.
