I'm skeptical.

Chip, you could do a gif of a gerbil in a loose hamster wheel rolling around Denver.

Didga enjoy that? I did. And it appears the cat did as well.

That is one cool cat. Despite the video editing. Just getting the cat to cooperate was impressive.

wasn't it?

Lileks dog passed away... "passed away" are his words not mine.

Jasper passed at 3:10 Friday afternoon on the last day of the first month. I say “passed” not because euphemisms are necessary to put the bad words behind a sugared fence, but because that was what it was. Someone leaves a house, they don’t disappear. Someone turns the corner, they don’t evaporate. Something slides away and you can’t tell quite what it is, only that it passed as it left.

What it left was dead, but that’s not the same.

Did you know we now have a "climate footprint" aside from the "carbon footprint".

It's like an early days church. New gospels popping up.

Thanks, Lem. I don't go over there much anymore, but have thought for several years now that this passing would be coming sooner than it did. And now, I'm surprised and sad. That was another dog life well lived and cherished.

I thought it would be harder than it was to leave our Good Dog's body behind for cremation, but after spending several minutes sitting next to him following his last breath, it became very clear that his essence, all that made him wonderful and dog-like had passed and was absolutely gone. What's left in my heart is a deep sense of loss accompanied by profound gratitude, for all he was, and Jasper too.

The above was written before I made my way over to column to read the full story. Now I need to watch the cat one more time to regain balance and composure.

Chip put up an old dog post that's very touching.

I need to go to bed. good night. I bid you fare well. this is not a farewell address. I don't wear a dress. I wear pants.

BTW the hashtag #addinmypantstoafilm was trending tonight, and, well, I thought I did ok :)

Lem, my crowning glory adding 'in my pants' to a song was:

Like a rock in my pants.

Thankya, thankya verra much.

Someone else said:

A burning ring of fire in my pants.

The spirit flees from the boy with shocking speed.

I'm sorry about Jasper, MamaM. Dogs are the most remarkable creatures. Their boundless love and devotion is a true miracle.

Jasper was James Lilek's 19 year old good dog and I was sorry to hear of his passing. The loss I feel for Jasper, who was pictured and featured in many stories told over at The Bleat, is part of the same sense of loss I've felt whenever Good Dogs I've known in one way or another have died.

Dang, Lileks can write. I'd forgotten. Need to get back there more.

I'm sorry, I misread.
