Pesci went nuts, really great. Went on to play the same character in Casino. (That second to last scene out in the sugar cane fields. Shudder.) The role of Ray Liotta's lifetime too though I did appreciate him as Johnny Depp's dad in Blow. Anyway, ironically, Pesci's character was being a clown in this scene albeit for his own amusement. Which is probably a good response to being called a clown. If you're up for it.
It's from Goodfellas but yeah parallels between the characters. In Casino they beat Pesci and his brother and bury them still alive in a hole out in the middle of some corn (not sugar cane, I don't know what I was thinking) fields. Very disturbing scene. Pesci's character gets whacked in Good Fellas when he thinks he's about to be "made." Thinking about this movie recently because the Lufthansa heist was in the news.
I don't know if I've ever watched Good Fellas straight through, but the ending sequence, where they're tying together what happened to everyone, the scene with the two corpses sliding inside the garbage truck, with the voice-over playing, is well done.
