Pieces of the original melody are embedded in the chant at the beginning of each measure. The problem then becomes that the original tune at places like "the red nosed" has large sequential leaps (downward 4th upward minor 6th) that would sound un-Gregorian chant-ey unless the intervening notes were filled in.
I like the added "Alleluia" with the currentes (downward runs) at the end.

I'm a fan of doo-wop Latin music.
Okay, that was funny. And I almost knew most of the words, too. But I sold my Latin book back right after taking my final. Oh, well.
I'll have to satisfy myself with "hey, that was an imperfect" and "cool, a negative question."
