I blogged about this video clip last year after I first saw it. It's remarkable for its quality and for what it captured -- sort of like finding an HD video of "The Beatles" in Hamburg.
Also, I never cease to be amazed when I see how SHORT Daltry is. I mean, I've been seeing him in clips of this or that (or in longer stuff) for decades now, and I'm always surprised at how short he is.
Yes Daltrey was short, but as my wife pointed out he's the the only cool-looking one whose look would fit in today. The other three were sartorial dorks.
Also, at this point in time, Daltrey was the band leader -- sort of like Brian Jones led the Rolling Stones at first. The others' personalities hadn't yet emerged.

Well, yeah, there was a reason he was the front man!
As for the rest, this must have been when Daltry was still settling everything with his fists.
Actually, the thing that strikes me most musically is that Moon seems to be the closest to reaching that sound that they would have later.
Last night Graham Norton asked Elton John if he always sang in his American Jazz voice. And Elton John answered by singing a bar of Rocket Man in a British Accent to amusing results.
In the archives like that each line is 15 posts, meaning they're scrolling like mad.
With all that Middle East food porn appreciation maybe I could get my website to buy me a full frame sensor camera.
The thing is, I wonder how people keep their cameras so clean. I have trouble enough keeping the lenses cleared off. The camera body itself is full of tiny places to collect grit. I'm wiping that thing constantly and every day it's a mess. I go to put the cap on and the little clampy lids have dust in them.
Talk about a time machine! 1964 was my Spring, soph, fall, Jr year in college @LSU.. The atmosphere & dress depicted is spot-on for the time. And, of course, in Louisiana, Jessie Hill's Ooh Poo Pah Do was a big item, so it all really brings it back.
Viewing that clip it seems almost like another planet-a MUCH more simple and naively innocent time--pre drugs, pre-ATM machines, pre VISA cards, pre radial tires, pre pretty much everything we take for granted today...a different world..

Wow...
Who are those people again?
Can't you just feel the teen anxiety? Love that little paisley dress with flaired sleeves. Were we ever that young?

No, I was never that young.

You're a hit, Chip! Impressive. Maybe it's an American longing for some good old-fashioned cuisine.
Ice :)
