So I assume people have heard about the shooting at LAX today. A 23 year old American citizen, living in L.A., originally from N.J. took a semiautomatic rifle into the security screening line and started shooting people. Six people shot, one 39 year old TSA agent dead. They shot him and took him into custody. Assumed to be acting alone. The murderer had a note on him saying he planed to kill TSA people.
The airport has been locked down all day. I just started seeing and hearing planes landing and taking off in the last half hour.
They had major streets around the airport still closed at 7 pm when I was coming home from work, but things seem to be clearing out now.

This is news to me, though the article linked says the phenomenon's been known (and studied) in the US since 1999. According to a 2003 Rolling Stone exposé, about 1/4 of all new HIV infections in US can be attributed to bug chasing.
Love the quote from the English guy who "succeeded" after having sex with more than 1000 men: “I get my liver function tests every three months, my cholesterol tested regularly and I get loads of general health checks so if there are any underlying conditions I know straight away. Even better, I get it all on the NHS.” Cross out NHS and write in O-care, coz here we come.

This story needs told so that incredibly cruel and unnecessary police policy might get changed. These horrible acts are done in our name with our passive permission, very often for no good reason.
I started to watch the puppy video -then stopped. I can't watch. On occasion, locally, there are stories of police shooting dogs in the home right in front of the owner-- for no reason. The spin by the police is always the same. But it all doesn't matter, because the poor helpless armed policeman claims he felt threatened.... By the family pet. Is this some sort of thrill kill cult? To add to the pain and insult, the police are later acquitted and given their jobs back. Every damn time.

I've heard it alleged that Rob Zombie did the animation, but I haven't been able to confirm that quickly.
The best part is when the guy's pompadour gets put in a cast after the crash.
