Pogo once said that everyone disappoints us eventually. Those were words of wisdom.

Last night I saw the episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon and Amy watch Raiders of the Lost Ark and Amy points out that Indiana Jones is superfluous to the story's resolution. Sheldon thinks that ruins the whole movie for him so he seeks vengence by trying to identify a favorite story of hers he can ruin.

Sheldon disappointed me, tremendously.

I've known plenty of assholes who would have never even so much as conceded the premise and who would have turned the whole thing into a battle for primate dominance worthy of a super-intelligent, psychotically antisocial chimpanzee.

When it comes to interpersonal hostility, Sheldon's a piker.

Soft kitty, indeed.

KD Lang - She is one of my favorites. Her vocal talent knocks my socks off.

(and no -that doesn't make me a lesbian)
On the flip, I cannot stand Melisa Ethridge. Annoying.

Eric - There's something about people who constantly seek revenge for every slight that is unsettling.
At least the writers of the show twist it and make it amusing. Sheldon was looking for that revenge in the funny papers and Pride and Prejudice. Damn - not there!

Yeah, Jim Parsons goes overboard with the cutesy in that episode but it's pretty easy to see why they needed to take the sting out of Sheldon's revenge-seeking behavior. And if you put a stopwatch on the whole subplot, it was maybe 4 minutes of air time, tops.

I howled at the bust on Ziggy. We can add that one to The Simpsons (where Smithers reads Ziggy to Mr. Burns) and to Seinfeld (where J. Peterman identifies Elaine's "New Yorker" cartoon as a Ziggy ripoff).

There must be others out there, I'm sure.

KD Lang is one of the best voices I have ever heard. I have been buying her records since "Sweetheart of the Rodeo."

I remember seeing her live with Tony Bennett in Jersey about ten years ago.

Her performance of Roy Orbison's "Crying" is one of the best vocals I have ever heard.

I just realized how stupid it is to say I bought her records.

I mean I used to but now I just steal them off of the Internet like everybody else.

Oh and one other thing. Just because I love KD Lang that doesn't make me a lesbian.

Even if we have a lot of the same interests. Just sayn'

Mine too. She is probably one of the most talented and versatile contemporary singers that I've heard. I would love to see her in a live performance.

It is the joy of singing that you see on her face that makes it so much fun.

She is a true artist.

BDQ - I've missed her a few times at one of the local venues. Shame on me.

I saw her at Radio City as well. It was dynamite.

If I ran a TV network she would have an old fashioned variety show where she would sing duets with guests.

You know what I would do is recreate exactly the old Dean Marin show.

She could have her own bevy of beauties. I just wouldn't call them the "Gold-diggers." Maybe the "Muff Divers" or the "Carpet Munchers" or something like that there.

I think it would be a ratings bonanza.

One of her albums is named "All you can eat."

It's fabulous!

She seems a bit, well, mannish, shall I say?
