Yes, I always have picked the 1967 "Summer of Love" as the dividing-line delineating the early sixties (which were an extension of the 50s, really) from the psychedelic late 60s, early 70s that most think of as "the sixties."
Of course 1964 is an important milestone marking the emergence of the Beetles on the American scene which changed American pop/rock forever, but except for a few places like Columbia and Berkeley the change didn't really take hold nation-wide, imo, until the summer of '67.
1967 was the year of the first Super Bowl and the Bosox "Impossible Dream"..almost. The nuns let us listen to the WS games on radio. It was such a big deal in New England. And, this was before 24/7 media..it was a natural big deal, not contrived like today.
I was just a kid, and remember the news at the time, which had war, and domestic strife in it, but I didn't know any better. From my perspective in small town Pennsylvania the times seemed pleasant, fun, and prosperous. It seemed idyllic if you were young enough. I don't know why some people involve their young children in politics. You can never get those innocent years back. We have kids today who are stressed out and anxious about global warming, and pollution, and the debt, and all kinds of stuff for no good reason.

All it took was mixed isomers of xylene to spiritually transfer some of 1967 to 2013.
There's a connection there, between then and now. Everything was beautiful but everything was falling apart.
The first in a series.
It was a very good year, and a very good work.
I'm obviously just an uncultured rube, so I hope it's not an insult if I say I really like it.
I don't care about culture, except in my yogurt. I care about honesty and beauty.
I don't know what my work is, why I do it, or what it means.
Thanks to you both.

Yes.
Guess you had to be there.

I see a sandwich. Am I crazy?
Yes
But not nearly as crazy as an infamous troll here.
LOL.
I promise I won't e-mail your wife.
Even though I'm pretty upset.
You definitely have captured the color palette of those years. I very much like this work of art.
1967. Ah, a wonderful year.
I believe that was the year when Kandinsky first tried a hamburger.
I agree with the others, good stuff.
I was caught at the top, then noticed what was beneath and it made me laugh. Not in a bad way, delighted.
I think Tie Fighters were more 1977, however.
"Read more" reveals the hamburger inspiration.
So I'm not crazy after all. OK - just a little slow.
I see French-fries.
"I see dead people."
Am I depressed?
Am I depressed?
No, you're in Wisconsin.
A year too early. It was '68 when everything fell apart.
