I watched a lot of what the man said back then and it wasn't a big part of his message. I know the Lefties got on him about supporting their causes and started the Uncle Tom thing to nudge him that way.
If you're talking about the reparation thing in Playboy, that seems to be a one-off.
Watching the commemoration I tried to see it from the perspective of a WWII commemoration. It was futile. WWII came to an end. Whatever this is, it has no end.

I tried listening to that speech but he lost me the minute he started talking about banking transactions.
I was under the mistaken impression that Bush 43 was going to be at todays commemoration, at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

Whatever it is that the speeches were about It had all the elements of an open ended commitment.
Maybe that is why it seemed to me that their harts and minds where not in it.
There was very little energy at that gathering today.
At one point, Mathews was told, by an anchorette, to get with the program, as it were.
