I worked a case where a guy was delivering a load of drywall. He had one of those truck cranes. He was unloading the first pile and hit a high tension wire. Now, electricity has to exit your body somewhere. It exited through his crotch and blew off his entire package!
I don't know what was wrong with the old pole. It had been there since 1973 and would probably be there an equal time, and there's no unbalanced load on it.
They took down the old pole in chainsaw sized segments, having used it to erect the new pole.
Whether they excavated and filled the stump I can't say.
Althouse has a post up from the Orland Sentinel that if Trayvon Martin's family files a civil suit against Zimmerman, O'Mara says he will claim "Stand your Ground" immunity, and - it sounds like - possibly counter-sue.
This gets interesting. "Stand your Ground" has nothing to do with what actually happened and was not claimed in the criminal trial, but can O'Mara use that in the civil suit (if one is filed) because the suit presumes a different chain of events than what was presented in the criminal trial? IOW, fight fiction with fiction, though in a real court room?
