Don't worry, it's not that creaky-voiced hippy. It's his backup band, who split from him and exceeded him in musicianship.

Doesn't this qualify as alluding? Oops now were gonna get it. Dad's gonna spank your butt when he gets home from walking the dog. Which now days probably includes substantial kicking of the poor thing's nuts while the Ms. leers from the window.

And Pastafarian comes through in a BIG way! Nice, I never saw that one. Brilliant as always but, having just watched once, they seemed so nervous at first! Like all the joy of this happy song was gone. Also it sounded like one of the tracks or channels was missing, but maybe that was my computer. Anyway, they kicked it up about 2:40 or so seemed like. What a joy to see. Pretty flattering of Ed.

Thanks for the post. Bob Dylan 4ever.

Fuck. Now I actually have to listen to this shit.

"Up On Cripple Creek."

Yeah, I know:

Right at the foot of Brokeback Mountain.

It's just fucking relentless, man,...

Levon Helm was a great singer, may he RIP. This version is not as good as the one from 'The Last Waltz', which is my favorite concert movie.

Dylan and The Band almost single-handedly killed psychedelic rock. Cassettes of their Big Pink work reached The Beatles, The Stones, Clapton and others.

Suddenly, The Magical Mystery Tour was over and we were listening to Rocky Raccoon.

The Band were rockers before Dylan made his way to Green Witch village. Pro's pros by the time they backed him up at Newport.

He did teach them to write songs though, I'll give him that fer sure.

Manual had great pipes also too soon destroyed by booze and dope and hanging. Heh. And Hudson the classically trained musician was as comfortable on soprano sax as he was on keyboards.

Helm was the man though and the boy Robertson was a disappointment over the long haul.

I remember Levon Helm saying once that he didn't really care for Dylan's songs - they were too wordy.

That's right. There's that story of Dylan riding in the car when Sgt. Pepper came on the radio. "Turn that off!" he said.
