WASHINGTON — Harry Reid lashed out at Donald Trump on Sunday after Trump’s campaign manager warned that the Senate minority leader should be “very careful” about his insults against the incoming president.
“It only took five days for President-elect Trump to try to silence his critics with the threat of legal action. This should shock and concern all Americans,” Adam Jentleson, deputy chief of staff for Reid (D-Nev.), said in a Sunday statement. “… Instead of rising to the responsibility of his office, Trump is hiding behind his Twitter account and sending his staff on TV to threaten his critics.”
Kellyanne Conway accused Reid on “Fox News Sunday” of inciting protesters and causing “havoc” with his response to Hillary Clinton’s stunning defeat.
Reid on Friday called Trump a “sexual predator who lost the popular vote and fueled his campaign with bigotry and hate.”
“He should be very careful about characterizing somebody in a legal sense,” Conway told “Fox News Sunday.” “He thinks he’s just being some kind of political pundit there, but I would say be very careful about the way you characterize it.”
Asked specifically if Trump was threatening a lawsuit against Reid, Conway said “no,” that he’s calling for “maturity and decency.”
Conway called on President Obama to make Reid stop his name-calling and give Trump a fair chance.
“I hope President Obama calls Harry Reid today and says, cut it out,” Conway said.
But Reid said it’s Trump’s responsibility to address post-election incidents of hate speech against Muslims, Jews, women and minorities — including a planned KKK victory parade.
“If this is going to be a time of healing, Trump must take action immediately to stop the acts of hate and threats of violence that are being committed in his name across the country,” Jentleson said. “Trump owes the nation leadership, not petty attempts to silence his critics.”
(This is the same "Big Lie" that twat Lesley Stahl was peddling on Sixty Minutes. There are no instances of Trump supporters attacking minorities. In fact it is Trump supporters who are being attacked. Or innocent white drivers being pulled out of their cars and attacked. This is just more of the Democratic and media lies to rile up their base. Trump should take every means necessary to combat it.Tweet out that they are lying scumbags. Do whatever it takes. Including legal action against the media if it is warranted. Or better yet deny their credentials. They have a right to report the news. They don't have the right to all the perks that they get. Let them be on the outside looking in. Maybe they will actually get out and report something.)
