Let's see how the British rig their votes.

Lots of pudding bowls at stake.

Of course. First, like the USA a solid 40-45% of Brits are complete Morons and just want to drink beer and watch footie on the tele. Second, you've got a large immigrant community that doesn't care a rap about Great Britain, they're just their for the freebies and $$$.

Five years from now, when there will another 5 million immigrants in the UK, the vote will 60-40 against leaving.

Talks begin next week to admit Turkey into the EU. Germany relishes this. There is longstanding alliance between Turkey and Germany, based on trade along the Danube River basin which ultimately connects Germany with Turkey.

I hear they use erasers.

You mean rubbers?

The British love their money more than they love their silly cross-barred flag.

Or really anything else that's British.

A very self-deprecating people. But definitely not anti-materialistic.

"I hope I'm wrong. I hope I'm made a fool of" (regarding the government scheme to add new last minute voters to tip the scales)

*Yeah - dude I know the feeling. Being scammed*

People can only be hosed, milked, taken advantage of and fleeced for so long.
Leftwingers will rip you off then tell you you're greedy for not letting them steal your dirty undies.

I'm for #Brexit, but if you asked me why I would just say it's a cool hashtag.

ndspinelli said...

Hopefully there aren't a bunch of people w/ Chicago accents counting the votes.

Materialism is another issue.

Unless this election is stolen, it bodes well for Trump. This is the UK's fight against the establishment, the elitists. And, the Remain people were having that same look of faux confidence the last few weeks.

Lem said...

Did Nate Silver get it wrong?

Please tell me he goofed.

Of course the vote is nonbinding so expect the the Great Brutish govt to weasel their way out. This is Cameron's and Frau Merkel's Anus Horribilis as they've gotten their butts kicked. He should be gone shortly, she should be.

There's a definite downside when the markets lose a trillion dollars in a single day. I don't know what the long term consequences will be, but a lot of people, including me and probably you, just lost a lot of money. I'm not in favor of losing money. Losing money has never improved my character or mood.

The LEAVES came out and kicked butt. I guess Trump doesn't have a chance either. People on both sides of the Atlantic have had enough of the globalists.

edutcher said...

I think he meant Cacklepants.

Not stolen, Brexit is real. April will spend all her days muttering to herself, "The fix was in. I know the fix was in"

Third Coast said...

It's going to be rather humorous to see how the Repub. elites, Dems and Media try to spin these results. Got the popcorn going already.

Third Coast said...

...and by the way, all the polls were wrong (or maybe rigged).

As usual, Lem's was far, far ahead of the curve with its Altexit several years ago.

Lem is often ahead of the curve. Too bad he couldn't hit a curve like his fellow countrymen.

Scammed by polls!

POL!

Chickl - If Trump manages to win, you can all laugh at me, kick me, mock me relentlessly. Say "I told you so" until I have cry. I won't care. I'll be so happy the Clinton Crime Family lost, I won't feel a thing.

Brexit - I had no premonition - other than I hoped The Brits would send the world a message and back out. Germany - your turn.

btw- Trump's speech/presser was a good one. I hope it gets through Hillary's hack media. They will ignore it or chop it into silly pieces.

AprilApple said...

Stephen Kruizer has it figured out.

This shows you the difference between Trump and Hillary. Trump is nimble. He put himself in place to capitalize on whatever happens. Hillary will not react for a couple of days until she gets the word from her consultants. Now that means that sometimes Trump shoots himself in the foot. But in reality it is the only way to act in this new instant Twitter/internet world.

Trooper York said...

Don't bother reading April's link. It is the usual anti-Trump twaddle with the same negative attacks that she serves up in every post. You will get the gist in her next five comments.

AprilApple said...

I think you might want to brace yur-selves for some horrible reality. At least keep it as an option. If you prefer blind optimism -that's cool.

AprilApple said...

LOL - Point and laugh.

The Corrupt Clinton Crime Family cannot touch the Brits. (oh and FU Soros) Perhaps a move to Cornwall is in order? It looks lovely.

Trooper York said...

There is also such a thing as blind pessimism. But we don't have to worry about the minutia of this campaign because Trump is only in it to throw it to Hillary. They are in cahoots. Every sane person believes that!

The real issues in the exit from the EU are the same as the ones that we are dealing with now in our election. Decisions made by the elites, who think that the rest of the population are a bunch of low brown neanderthal morons who must be told what to do.

The same issues we are dealing with here and that Trump is actually addressing, discussing and listening to the people.

1. Unfettered immigration bringing in low income workers who take jobs and suppress wages. Economic hardship for the citizens who are there now.

2. The burdensome cost of the welfare system in supporting those people. Crime, rapes and chaos committed by those immigrants.

3. Societal changes from the massive and uncontrolled influx of people who do not and will not assimilate.

4. Rules and regulations imposed by faceless un-elected bureaucrats in far away places. In the EU it is the mysterious cabal in Brussels. In our case the EPA, NSA, and all the other alphabet soup of agencies.

5. Lost of autonomy at the local level. The EU telling Brits how many people it MUST take in. How to do things. What to do. With no input from the people themselves. Who put THOSE elites in charge anyway.

The coup de grace was THIS The European Commission plans to unveil long-delayed ‘ecodesign’ restrictions on small household appliances in the autumn. They are expected to ban the most energy-inefficient devices from sale in order to cut carbon emissions.

This means that the cherished electric kettles that almost every household, or at least the common lower class despised working man's household, uses to make their daily tea would be forbidden.

What!!!!! You do NOT mess with the tea. They should take a lesson from the American Revolution where the TEA tax was our straw that broke the camel's back.

Don't fuck with the tea. You were warned.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

Stephen Kruizer has it figured out.

Yup. Molon Labe

Those are our tea kettles ;-)

Except there will be more than just a few broken pieces of china.

DBQ - She brings it. :-)

Has Obama uttered any anti-British rubbish yet? "That's not who we are?"

I see Northern Ireland voted to remain. I guess no one tried to fuck w/ whiskey.

Trump thinks on his feet. In this strange new world it may matter less what you say than how you say it when he and Hillary are finally face to face.
