I tried listening to that speech but he lost me the minute he started talking about banking transactions.

I was under the mistaken impression that Bush 43 was going to be at todays commemoration, at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

We've all seen the Trayvon Martin Luther King t-shirt, haven't we?

Actually, looks like Eddie Murphy in "The Golden Child".

OT, but too cool:

Death for Hasan.

Supposedly, Choom is trying to tie MLK to the Commie dodge of "economic justice".

Sorry, MLK only wanted a man to be judged by the content of his character.

And he was a Republican.

When it meant something.

I see you missed the same part of the speech Mitchell skipped. Interesting.

Sorry, MLK only wanted a man to be judged by the content of his character.

Naw, you need to read the speech again - it was pretty ballsy.

And he was a Republican.

But no Republican will claim his desires for anything but "a man to be judged by the content of his character." That's pretty lame.

When it meant something.

Come hang with me for a while and let's see if you think it doesn't mean anything anymore,...

Didn't see it, just the part Yahoo! News thought was important.

You mean Choom actually said something intelligent?

Elucidate.

No, MLK was firmly left-wing on economic issues. Obama is quite right about that.

The moral of this story is that just because a man's right about one thing doesn't make him right about everything.

I watched a lot of what the man said back then and it wasn't a big part of his message. I know the Lefties got on him about supporting their causes and started the Uncle Tom thing to nudge him that way.

If you're talking about the reparation thing in Playboy, that seems to be a one-off.

Thanks AJ

I wish I could claim credit. I'm only guilty of finding it.

Watching the commemoration I tried to see it from the perspective of a WWII commemoration. It was futile. WWII came to an end.
Whatever this is, it has no end.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Whatever it is that the speeches were about It had all the elements of an open ended commitment.

Maybe that is why it seemed to me that their harts and minds where not in it.
There was very little energy at that gathering today.

At one point, Mathews was told, by an anchorette, to get with the program, as it were.
Matthews fired back "its not my job".

I'm looking for the video. It should make a good post.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Looks like nobody caught it, or maybe Matthews was too subtle to worth a post.

Matthews delicately told the lady that it was not his job to be a
cheerleader.

I heard it, if I heard it lots of people must have heard it.
