On Smoke & Fire Away

A north wind brought the smoke from the Canadian fires to our area on Tuesday, with 1/4 mile visibility reported in some areas like Detroit today.  Since we're situated in the woods alongside Lake Michigan,  my first thought on seeing the haze was that a light fog had rolled in from the lake.  Then, as I was driving an hour inland to Grand Rapids yesterday afternoon,  I could see the haze become noticeably more pronounced the further in I went, creating an unusual and eerie looking landscape.  Spent most of today indoors at home, surprised anew to see the fire and smoke Biden released when he yelled "No!" in response to questioning regarding his involvement with his son's "Chinese shake-down text message".

Is he a match for Walter the puppet, or what?

A Dense Smoke Advisory was issued tonight. In effect until 1PM tomorrow, with the caution that widespread smoke will reduce visibility to under one mile and occasionally to near zero, making navigation for mariners on parts of the Great Lakes difficult.

We got hit in the Chicago area on Monday. Isn't it more than one guy starting the fires?
We are experiencing a drought. Hardly any snow fell this year and now no rain. The Chicago Fire started with similar conditions. Their were 4 large fires in the midwest that day, the one in Door County WI killed over 4000 people.
