President Trump tweets picture of hero dog used in Baghdadi raid

Psych!

Just messing with you.

Here's the real dog.

And the whole time the dog was just playing his favorite games. The ones where his handler keeps telling him how great he is and keeps rewarding him with his toy and with reliable direct personal attention.

The dog's name has not been declassified. They allowed the photo because, come on, these Belgians all look pretty much alike. Not really, but mostly. The brass will undoubtedly award the dog the purple heart because, knowing Trump as we do, as much to make a bigger deal out it and rub salt into an Islamic wound as to honor the dog. That's how Trump rolls. Trump picks the specific elements to emphasize and maximize.

Look how well this dog is groomed. The hair trimmed around his ears. His nails. The hair that grows in tuffs on his feet. You can tell by looking this dog gets a lot of specific attention.

From Jim Treacher, via Instapundit:

Seriously, though, I just have a few questions for this war hero:

1. Who’s a good girl?
2. Are you a good girl?
3. Wanna go outside?
4. Who is a good, good girl?

That's hilarious.

Read, in Vicki Hearne's "Adam's Task," the essays on Washoe and on How To Say Fetch.

for why dogs thrive on responsibility.

These Belgians are the dogs Aridog raised and loved.

The dog in question is a female.

Woof. Bringing a dog along was an extra humiliation. Moslems think dogs are unclean.

Of course, a lot of people think the same about Moslems.

Good marketing.

And I think you mean rub salt into a Democrat wound.

Didn't Airdog have german shepherds? I recall asking him about his avatar (which was definitely a shepherd) and getting the full shepherd love story. Maybe he had both.

That malinois looks fierce! Gorgeous dog.

Amartel, He had both.

All the Belgian sheepdogs have the exact same confirmation. The only difference is their coat.

In Yurp they're interbred to keep specific qualities strong. For example, when color begins to fade in a line of Tervuren or Malinois then they'll interbreed with Groenendael for their black. Groenendael appears to be the most steady.

I'm getting my information from Groenendael breeders.

This Malinois appears particularly dark. And large for a female.

It's a little surprising they're used so often nowadays. German shepherds are much stronger. They have much more powerful hind quarters. A German shepherd can knock a man right off his feet. Belgians are much lighter. Their stance is square. Yet they can jump very high. Right over your head. I think the major difference between German shepherd and Belgian sheepdogs as concerning law enforcement is their life spans. Belgians have nearly double the lifespan as German shepherd dogs.

I'm getting my confirmation and age-related information from dog books.

So if you have issue with anything that I said, take it up with Groenendael breeders and dog books and if you have issue with my mislabeling k-9 sex then look for their dog dicks.

I will do neither, but I did read the reports that stated that the dog used in the raid was a female.

I read that they ID'd the thing (Al Baghdadi) by the DNA left on his underpanties.
Probably left a big pile of DNA evidence behind.
