Karma over there in India

Karma, karma, karma, karma, karma chameleon
You come and go, you come and go-oh-oh-oh.
Kicking you is easy so your colors will match your m-e-e-e-e-a-n-ess.
Red, black and blue, red, black and blu-ew-ew-ew.

For this song, the lyrics sites are hairy Larry ass.

I meant to say hill airy us.

The first line is:
There's a loving in your eyes all the way.

Metro lyrics has:
Dessert loving in your eyes all the way.

Lyrics Genius has:
Desert loving in your eyes all the way.

Metro Lyrics has:
How to sale a contradiction?

It's a bit weird. The previous line is interrogative, but the question being asked is stated affirmatively.
So it depends how you punctuate it.

British are famous for this aren't they. The structure is affirmative stated as interrogative isn't it. A question mark would look silly wouldn't it. Because it's definitely a statement and not a genuine question then isn't it. They're seeking approval within the affirmative aren't they.

That's how these lyrics go. The original portion is interrogative while the following stanzas, part of the same sentence are interrogative. But it's a British guy asking, so he's actually stating affirmatively.

If I listened to your lies, would you say
(chorous)
I'm a man without conviction.
I'm a man who doesn't know
how to sell a contradiction.

Brilliant lyrics there, but British phrasing. It's a statement all the way through in that wishy-washy British way that states an affirmative as an interrogative. It seeks confirmation within an assertion. It assumes agreement. Assumes undisputed universal truth. It's passive aggressive.

Americans would write:
If I listened to your lies you would say ...

Because we talk like John Wayne over here, not like f'k'n Julie Andrews.
