I used to know a guy whose father was one of the original Four Seasons. He would come into the bar and cry the blues because he Dad got dumped from the band before the big money. Or at least he never got any of the big money.

The guy was in the carpenters Union and worked the Javits center. He was mobbed up with the Westies who control the jobs there. Through his Mom's family that were Irish.

TY, you don't want any Mc's in the Four Seasons. It's for Guineas only.

True Allen but the guineas loved them Irish pussy. You see the Irish girls were goers. The Italians were under Mama's watchful eye.

When I was growing up this was the most prevalent hook ups.

Italian guy Irish girl.
Irish guy Italian girl.
Italian guy Italian girl.
Irish guy Puerto Rican girl.

Everybody I knew was in one of those families. I was Irish guy Italian girl. You very seldom saw you're Irish guy Irish girl.

The Westies were not to be messed with. I just watched a bunch of shows about the Irish Mob in America. First I was reminded of my late ex-FIL as he grew up Irish in Hells Kitchen, then I thought of Mickey Spillane because, well, there was more than one of them - go figure. Then there was the most Irish of them all, Eddie "the Butcher" Cummiskey.

Then I got to Coonan and Featherstone I thought "Trooper knows those guys". Next thing you know Rudy showed up and made his name bustin' the whole thing all to pieces.

Then my brother wrote "They blew up the Chicken Man" and I told him I knew a guy who knows the true story about that. They blew up his house, too. But that was Philly.

As for Irish women, don't get me started. Crazy redheads, but you never forget 'em.

Plus, the Irish and the Italians are exactly the same people. If you need me to explain then you ain't either.

Sixty, The polls[not Poles] will tell us if it's real. I'm not talking the fucking fake polls, I'm talking elections.

I had met both Featherstone and Coonan back in the day. I was doing the taxes in an auto body shop in Hells Kitchen where they boiled out radiatiors. There was a bar on the corner where these guys used to hang out. I went for a pop for a couple of times with the guy that owned the shop. He was Hells Kitchen Irish so I got a pass and could come into the joint. Of course my Irish mug also worked.

Anyway I steered clear of those guys. They were bad news. They hooked up with Roy Demeo from the Gambinos.

Bad news all the way around.

When I saw that bar on the show I knew that was a place you had been, just based on your descriptions of the things you saw and did back in those days. Even laying eyes on DeMeo would have scared my poor naïve country self half to death. I'd rather encounter a copperhead or an Eastern Diamondback rattler in the woods than a member of the Gambino family. I am simple that way.

THey were pretty quiet when I met them. Featherstone actually didn't say a word. I thought he might have been high.

Heroin was big in those days. Buddy had this black dude working for him at the time. One time I went into the john and he was on the pot with a spike still in his arm.

Coonan was personable. He talked about his Dad who was also an accountant. It was interesting to say the least.

The sad remenants of the gang are still in the trade unions in the Javits Center. You would run into them at trade shows.

All of that stuff is over now. The new gangs are not interested in the unions anymore.

The stories of the rise and fall of the Irish mobs in NYC alone would fill volumes. The way they were intertwined with police and politicians is a fascinating thing to see.

I had a coworker whose brother was a union MTA employee in Boston back in the day. He was also connected to Whitey Bulger, who was brilliant at playing both sides of the street.

Fascinating stories from my perspective as a rank stranger to such things.

Well Owney Madden who was the leader of the Irish Mob in Hells Kitchen for many years is a prominent figure in my book about the origins of the Mafia.

I just finished his biography and other literature about him and I trying to weave Mae West and George Raft into the mix.

People are wondering how real WalkAway is. Consider this off Insty, 23% of white millenial men have fled the plantation in the last 2 years.

Depends on which 60s. There were 3 eras - Kennedy, Great Society, 'Nam. This is from the early 60s, Walk Like A Man came out Xmas '62, so this is pure Kennedy, very slick, very smooth.
