They demand Mexico and United States
1. respect their rights as refugees and our right to dignified work to be able to support their families.
2. That they open the borders to them because they are as much citizens as the people of the countries where they are and/or travel.

I recall news stories that this coordinated exodus happened several years ago with children (and "children") making their way from Central America thru Mexico with the tacit, and express (they had their own train), approval of Mexico. It was part of an effort to flood the US with DACA refugees. This was during Obama so of course the kids were not turned back or otherwise discouraged but were given court dates and placed in foster pedophile homes and never seen again. The complicit nations were not called out, of course. No nation was shamed for doing such a shit job of governing that their babies went wandering about the hemisphere and into the next. No one was concerned about the kids - forced marching thru incredibly dangerous territory and at risk of assault by opportunistic evil - beyond their future ability to vote for the left candidate. Apparently, this exodus happens regularly, even yearly.
Reactivate the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 23rd, and 24th Divisions as light infantry, and the 11th, 13th, and 17th Airborne Divisions as well and put 'em on the border the same way the Army patrolled the border when the hostiles were crossing back and forth.

I’m beginning to think that this is just a political stunt organized and led by anti-Trump Americans, designed to irritate Trump supporters. The present tell is the demand for LBLTQ+ justice. Future tells will be reparartions for Kathy Griffin’s lost earnings and funding for David Hogg’s Ivy Leauge scholarship. Has Sean Penn joined them yet?

Interesting, they ask for everything except the end of the Mexican and South American Narco-Kleptocratic way of life that infests most of everything south of the border. Also, they don't ask for the drug trade to stop. You can't achieve their demands without these two things I highlighted. What is even more interesting is that Mexico allowed these 'illegals' into their country to march northward to America. Mexico is known for its harsh treatment of illegals on their southern borders.

Don't they watch the news? People here complain about the same things. America is a corrupt, homophobic, unfair place too. It's all relative. Even if you manage to get here and get to stay, your "friends" will convince you all over again that you are miserable and mistreated, so save the travel time.
I hope Trump's for real when he says he's going to send troops to the border.
He can't use the regular military for any direct interdiction without Congressional action. He can use them for some support activities. There is a bit more freedom with the National Guard but there are still limits there.
We won't see Army personnel standing guard duty at border crossings and arresting illegal immigrants.

I was one of those soldiers from Ft Bragg NC that was about to go to Detroit in 1967.
The Posse Comitatus act more or less prevents the president from deploying the US Army or the Air Force as a function of military activities of war within the US unless a national emergency is either declared or agreed upon by Congress or some other extenuating circumstance that require congressional authority. The Navy, the Marines, the national guard, or the air national guard are not mentioned or probably under the Posse Comitatus Acts purview. So Trump could deploy the national guard or the air national guard if he so chose or the marines.
Frankly, I don't think this is a Posse Comitatus situation.
PS If it prevents the Army (no Air Corps in 1877), it would prevent the Navy. Also the National Guard didn't exist 140 years ago.
