Mind control

Sundance likes this because it drives the point excellently.

I don't. Because it distills what I hate about American national and local news.

If you watch two seconds then you've seen the whole thing. Any more will drive you insane.

Ahem.

Edit:

This is the video I had in mind but couldn't find. Walter Williams makes a fine point that I hadn't heard before. In the pledge of allegiance we say, "and to the republic for which it stands," not to the democracy. And the Civil War song is titled Battle Hymn of the Republic, not Battle Hymn of the Democracy.

That's because it's not a democracy, although people have been using the word for a long time.

(using the Pledge isn't the best metaphor, but who am I to quarrel with Walter Williams?)

The hack-D press sings in unison. Forward that to all the local news stations. Really.

The radial left "want their democracy now!"

They want their tyranny now.

I disagree, uselessly I know, but I still disagree.

Democracy is an overarching term that describes rule by the people. A republic is a form of democracy. A constitutional republic is a form of democracy. A constitutional representative republic is a form of democracy. And a federal constitutional representative republic (that's us) is a form of democracy.

We are obviously not a "direct democracy" or as Ron Paul put it a "pure democracy" but we are a democracy.

I'm not sure why this has become a conservative talking point. It seems poorly thought out and puts us in the position of arguing that that we do not believe that we have a government of, by and for the people - because that's what a democracy is. The Constitution sets up the rules which make our form of democracy a republic.

Whether or not we still have one in reality is a different question.

We live in a Constitution Republic with Democratic institutions.

As we drift to majority rule only, the constitution dies.
- ie as one example: the progressive left want to get rid of the Electoral College, which as we know, gives smaller, less populated states a voice. The democratics like the idea of majority rule. They would have no problem with CA and NY choosing our elected officials.

"Democratic" is just another way to say "I own you now, pay for the universal Hillary state."
