Via Reddit: "I believe that in 30 years or so we will no longer need to kill any animals and that all meat will either be clean or plant-based, taste the same and also be much healthier for everyone" - Richard Branson
Branson is among a growing number of very wealthy and influential investors that envision a very different food system than we have now. They recognize that our diets are unsustainable, and that changes are coming whether we like it or not, so might as well get on board sooner than later. Which is why they're backing companies that promise to tantalize our taste buds while removing animals from the equation.

Ultimately, what will drive this is if they can produce food that tastes good and makes money (is good value for what it is), they will be successful.
If not, it will fail.
It is not that bold a prediction and you don't think every major company that sells processed food is not thinking what the next big thing is?
Enjoy your soylent green. I am fine if you lay off the burgers and steaks.
"They recognize that our diets are unsustainable" - but their bullshit never stops.
Branson will, of course, have his own XIT while we make do with tofuburgers.
I rather eat Evi.
So, Weiner gets sent to prison, and Branson doesn't think he'll eat again. Is that what is happening.
AllenS sums it up well.
