"Rand Paul Doesn't Want a Special Prosecutor on Russia"

Via InstapunditIn the wake of President Trump's dismissal of FBI Director James Comey, Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) have both called for a special commission to investigate Russia's involvement in the U.S. presidential election. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) isn't having it.

"Lots of crocodile tears in DC," he tweeted this morning.

Paul elaborated in an appearance on FOX Business's Varney & Co.:

"There's a lot of hypocrisy going around," Paul said, pointing to Sen. Charles Schumer's (D-NY) criticism of Comey from earlier this year and Secretary Hillary Clinton's recent claim that Comey's public disclosures about the FBI investigation into her private email server helped tilt the election to Trump.

Paul also shared his own reasons for not objecting to Comey's dismissal. "One of my concerns with Comey is that he was always up here on the hill advocating for more power for the FBI," Paul said on Varney & Co. "When I countered that and said, 'You could've done a better job investigating the killer in Orlando,' He would always respond, 'Oh, we just need more power to tap more phones of everybody and we'll get enough information to stop this.' And my point was they just need to do better police work when someone tips them off. A gun store tipped them off about the Orlando killer and they did virtually zero to investigate it."

When asked who should replace Comey, Paul said he wants "somebody who balances civil liberties with law enforcement."

Chuckie Schumer's Republicans are being the good little Democrats they're supposed to be.

If the Republicans sign on to the Special Prosecution THAT WILL NEVER END they deserve to go the way of the Whigs. I don't include McCain as a Republican. He's just the mean old coot who lives to throw a wrench in the works.

If you look on Breitbart, it's Junior, Grahamnesty, Collins - the remaining Weird Sister from ME, and Amash.

IOW the usual suspects.

McCabe: Unaware of requests for resources.

11:45 a.m.

"McCabe said he is unaware of any request for more resources in the Russian investigation, contradicting reports Comey requested more resources from the Department of Justice."

Trump may use Russian dressing on his salad, so David Frum is on the case.

Rand Paul would be a good choice for FBI director. He is an honest man who is concerned about people's personal security.

If Trump has one of those Russia fur hats then that's solid proof he's colluding with Russians to affect our elections.

And if Trump has any of those common concentric Russian dolls then that's proof that Trump has deals to hide within deals hidden within other deals tucked inside secret deals disguised from sight inside deals, and each layer painted so garishly that you honestly don't want to play with them very much. As dolls they're useless even as toys. And they're not decorative because they're hidden.

If Trump ever saw Russian ballet that means he's planning defection.

If Trump married a woman from a communist country that means Trump holds communist sympathies and must be impeached.

If Trump gambled it would be Russian Roulette and he's so unstable and unpredictable and mercurial and dictatorial that he will be impeached within six months.

If Trump had a dog it would be a Borzoi -- a Russian Wolfhound -- and that's proof right there that Trump has Russian ties.

Trump's favorite meal is Beef Stroganoff and when he eats it he pretends he's a Czar so by this insane behavior he must be impeached.

Listen to the Demos scream.

Rand Paul would be an interesting pick for FBI. But, I would like him to be NSA director and dismantle that Big Brother. Then put Steve Forbes as IRS Director and dismantle that Big Brother..flat tax. That would put half the lobbyists in DC out of work as well. The Big Govt. conservatives here and elsewhere don't want to drain the swamp, they just want to take it over.

"Steve Forbes as IRS Director "

Now your talking.

Inspiring ideas.

You've struck me with them. It's like the sky's the limit once you cast aside the antique paradigms and slip the surly bonds of Earth.
