Berlin plans ‘center of defense against fake news’

The German government is seeking to create a center of defense against disinformation ahead of next year’s elections, in the wake of ongoing “fake news” and "Russian hackers" hysteria generated during the election cycle in the United States.

The Federal Press Office in the Chancellery, which has a staff of over 500 professionals, will take the leading role in establishing the fake news defense center, Der Spiegel reported quoting a note from an anonymous Interior Ministry staff member.

According to the Interior Ministry plan, the center will focus on offering “intensification of political education work” with groups susceptible to “fake news” – namely “Russian-Germans” as well as “Turkish-speaking people.”

The New Chancellery (the 3rd) is situated just down the street from where Dolf's (the 2nd) one was. Much of the ornate granite and marble from Dolf's chancellery was recycled by the Soviet and used at Treptower Park.

The Soviets built 3 memorials in Berlin for their fallen. The first was situated right next to the Reichstag and was began before the city was divvied up. Throughout the Cold War, the Tiergarten Memorial was a Soviet island in the British Sector of Berlin which was itself an island in East Germany. The other two were much larger and ornate and built later in East Berlin.

Dr. Gerbil's Propaganda Ministry was right across the street from Dolf's Chancellery. I had a friend once who lived in a modern apartment built on the site of the Propaganda Ministry. His place looked down on exactly where Dolf used to stand on a balcony. There was a Chinese take out place there in the 90's. Neither building survived the war. A block or two south was Goering's fortress, the Air Ministry. That building still stands.

Germans are funny. They would rather plan to stop fake news instead of concentrating their efforts to expel muslims from their country.

Chances are that they'll spend a moment attacking conspiracy nuts? Articles on how GMO's aren't bad for you, fracking doesn't make any greater mess than other types of hydrocarbon extraction, vaccines don't cause autism, 9-11 was not an inside job, fire does melt steel, chem-trails aren't real, lizard people have not replaced world leaders, Sadaam most certainly did have chemical weapons (and used them), and socialism never works?
