How to get Hypothermia. Step by step video instructions.
But seriously, they do this in Norway and Finland and Sweden and take pride in their love of the snow and the cold.

If one builds up sufficient heat in a sauna one can endure cold. Plus, studies have shown that having a positive mental attitude can help stave off hypothermia a bit longer.

But in the end, physics will catch up with you. Drinking dilates one's capillaries and allows your core heat to escape faster.

I won't go swimming in water that is colder than 85 degrees. If it is only 84, I notice and depart from that body of water. Also, I like air temperatures in the 80-90 degree range. Snow and ice are not something I want anything to do with.

That said, however, since I read War and Peace a few years back I do try to walk barefoot in the snow every winter just to measure my ability to withstand cold. But that is just an exercise, not a lifestyle.
