Donald Trump used that song shortly before speaking at his rally in San Diego today. It's a great CCR tune. I'm pretty sure that Fogerty's lawyers will be in touch with Trump's people shortly. They also played a lot of Stones' songs.
I got about as close to the stage as Sixty Grit must have gotten to John Fogerty back in '69 when he attended that august fest.
I was still going through the metal detectors when I heard Sarah Palin's distinct voice. Here she is:
All the speakers were in front of the flags, but there was a sideshow going on to the left of me where the media were perched on a raised platform. Darrell Issa appeared briefly on that stage/perch and held a sign "Veterans For Trump." That was the news-breaking moment for me -- a full 30 minutes before Trump announced Issa's endorsement:
Trump took the stage:
Visually, the whole rally could have really used one of those live projection screens. You people watching YouTube really had a better seat. At least his words came through loud and clear. Most of his message resonated. The part about Iraq being wrong got a muted response. San Diego is full of veterans.

TRump did not mention cancelling the charity debate with Sanders today. He did, however, go into detail about his own earlier decision to skip a FOX debate and to do his own charity debate for vets which raised some $5.5MM. Trump promised to give a breakdown of where that money went next week.
Trump twice mentioned feeling sorry for Bernie supporters at today's rally. He's playing the "Bernie's facing a rigged system" in order to woo Sanders voters.
Hey Chick did you see protesters with Mexican flags outside? Just curious.
I saw more blacks than hispanics inside today's rally. Odd thing I saw outside was that the San Diego Sheriff Dept had brought in officers on at least three or four large coach buses. Most of those guys were deployed as a buffer between the protestors and those of us leaving the rally. Standing watch over the buses and not participating in gaurd duty were several hispanic-looking officers.
Conscientious objectors or smart deployment?
I know he's trying, but I can't believe Trump will get very many of Bernie's voters. They'd stay home before voting for him over Hillary.

All that protest stuff was staged across the street and across light rail tracks from the convention center. I saw it on my way in but didn't pause because I wanted to get inside. I saw a photo with one Mexican flag.
As we were leaving, one or two cars slowed down along side us to yell "Fuck Trump" but they looked pretty gringoid.

Just a couple of bag's employees on holiday.
There is no doubt in my mind that Trump is a northeast liberal. And that he will probably never build a wall or deport anyone other than maybe his current wife, if she crosses him.
But considering the alternative, go trump.
Thanks for your bravery in the face of the hostiles, and thanks for the report.
And speaking of Woodstock, last night I started watching a movie about Levon Helm - now there was a man. Only saw the first half hour, so I have no idea where the movie goes, but I know how his life turned out, so there can't be a surprise ending. It's just good to see him interacting with his family and friends, and making music in real life.
Once again, we won't see his likes again, nope, the future is belongs to Narcocorrido stars.
Good reporting, thanks. One reporter outside the rally noted, "This is right near the Gaslamp area." I don't know if he was just giving a little geography or saying the protesters were liquored up.
Trump was caught after he promised a 1 million donation. He never gave it. Then, when a reporter did some digging to find out that true enough - Trump didn't actually give 1 million as promised - THEN and only then did Trump give the 1 million.
Then Trump called the reporter who cornered him --all sorts of nasty names.
@April: At least reporters will wake up after sleeping at the switch for the last 7 years. And you just know that they'd love to continue the paid the vacation for another 8 years under Hillary.
Trump openly mocked the press perched on that platform. At one point he referred to them as slime.
LOL! Hold on tight, some folks don't cotton to you saying anything negative about Trump. But, you know that.
"Slime" that indeed are.
"they" not that.
Trump could call out the leftwing media - instead he lies and thrashes around at anyone on Fox who asks a tough question.
Trump has been calling out the Lefties all along, pick an issue. April just hates him, so she just makes it up to suit her; and Trump is less a Liberal than Sixty thinks.
Anybody who caught his many interviews with Cavuto over the years knows he's a lot more Conservative than the people who wanted to lose with the One True conservative ever wanted to admit.

Well, now, that's nicely vague. A few specifics? Better yet, a source?

You never know. In any case, a Demo who stays him is one less vote for Cacklepants.

Here you go
As recently as last week, Trump’s campaign manager had insisted that the mogul had already given that money away. But that was false: Trump had not.
Trump uses the excuse of vetting - but that is total BS. He was trying to take credit for a donation without actually ponying up.
From the article:
Sue Kallstrom said she was not sure whether the money had been transferred yet.
Read the whole thing, not just the headline. You dig down and the facts are buried in the piece. Seems like a lot of people are unsure about what was transferred when.
But the takeaway for April is Trump was mean to a WaPo reporter. How rude!
Never mind she's been waiting for somebody other than Richard B Cheney to get nasty with the Tiffany media since Reagan left office.
I know this will just bounce off the NeverTrumpers, but a little news from the real war.
Looks like Guccifer handed some of the emails he hacked to the Feds.
The money quote? It looks like Hillary had not counted on someone else having her emails.
He didn't give the money until pressed. YOU read the whole thing - Trump blind faither.
Any lie for Orange Obama - right Ed?
Bottom Line:
Donald Trump had to be shamed by a Washington Post reporter before he ponied up the $1 million he said he had given veterans months ago.
Resorting to his usual childish tantrum when forced to do something he didn’t want to do, Trump then called the reporter a “nasty guy.”
He's YOUR guy, ed. Be proud.
Wow, you found the place where Ben Shapiro landed after making an ass of himself. Lemme guess, diehard Cruzzer clickbait all the time.
Love the editorializing in what's supposed to be a fact piece.
Yeah, Trump's such a charlatan about the troops, he sent his own plane, free of charge, to help 200 Marines get home. I noticed at the time you stayed away from this.
And childish tantrums aren't as usual for Trump as they are for someone a lot closer.
Quit all the dancing and come out for Hillary. We all know you'll vote for her in the end.
PS Linked to a big story about Hillary's getting closer to that orange jumpsuit and the perp walk, but April isn't interested in that.
So if you don't like the truth - you blame it on who is providing the truth.
Sad.
It's Ben Shapiro's fault Trump lied.
Amazing. What power.
Just once I'd like a blind faith Trumpie to admit that Trump stepped on his own dick. And he didn't need to.
If Trump wants to be the champion and savior of vets - great. More power to him.
Don't lie about a promised 1 million dollar donation.
Don't give the media any fodder. Trump thinks he can lie like Hillary and get away with it. Not after it's hillary v Trump.
Poor Ben. The guy's going to explode. Everyone else will have to be his public psychiatrist, without me, I'm not up to the task.
I listened awhile to the podcast with Ace and Ben together and I knew already what I'd be in for. Ben listens carefully and patiently for an impressively long time but when he cuts loose, good Lord, he pours in torrent and there's no halting the flood, his speech goes into highspeed train wreck mode and he takes on a stuttering Porky Pig aspect and he forfeits coherence and lays out premises and hands out conclusions that beg being disputed but Ben's moved onto three subjects beyond. Like a tiny little tight wound up Chihuahua on a leash suddenly turned in five Cerberus pulling on leashes gnarling and snapping and allowing no conversation f'n click Until Ben recovers from this seriously debilitating psychic episode.
He's all Party, Party, Party, Party, the imagined vaunted values of beloved Party, Party, Party uber alles. He's quite insane with fealty to an imagined cohesive representative party. Ben still has not internalize that what he speaks of does not exist. And for a majority of conservative voters out there, never did exist. Ben still hasn't accept that. Ben has not accepted the validity of conservative representation. He wants something else represented, his conceptualization of Republican Party values. And he'll crank your f'n ears right off your head about not having them. He is elitist so blow me. Yes, it's come to that.
April asked: Just once I'd like a blind faith Trumpie to admit that Trump stepped on his own dick.
That would be like him stepping on his own fingers. Not gonna happen.
