Illegal immigration is booming

The Hill:  The numbers, compiled by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), reveal that child migration is on par with 2014 levels, when a wave of kids — thousands of them unaccompanied — arrived at the southern border.
The surge of illegal immigration quickly swamped border authorities, immigration courts and health and humanitarian workers, while sparking a political battle on Capitol Hill over the cause and proper response to the crisis.
The new figures raise the specter of another increase this summer. That would almost certainly inflame another political showdown in a volatile presidential year in which the issues of race, immigration and border security have been pronounced — particularly due to the hard-line enforcement approach adopted by the presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.

Toss in Hilary's attack ad and the battle lines are drawn.

PS What Drudge called, the scorched earth exit of Barack Obama.

They are just trying to get in before the gates are closed and so they can get on the gravy train as soon as possible.

Bringing all their diseases with them as well. Get ready for another summer of mysterious illnesses when the un-inoculated are in contact with the general population, TB, E-Coli contamination in food, spike in DUI driving and deaths.

Yay....third world conditions coming to your town!! Thanks Obama.

And Bags grows increasingly tumescent.

Around here illegal values include drunk driving, hit and run and child rape. But one cannot mention such things, as their "culture" is superior to ours.

To think that some people wonder why Trump's message resonates - morons.

They may get in, but they're going right back out again.

Something to conjure with - Black and Latino activists protest Hillary.

Looks like fireworks in Philly this August. Cleveland may look tame by comparison.

This news just stokes the flames of anger. If anyone thinks our guy is going have them all "going right back again" they are fools or liars.

Hillary is not a guy, nor is she "ours".

No one said he'd get them all.

He'll get some, but, if enough of the others are turned off by Queen Cacklepants to stay home, that's all good, too.

You have to stop being such a downer. It messes up your thinking.

Just because you don't kill all the mosquitos the first time you spray doesn't mean you don't try at all. You spray and get as many as you can. Then you spray again and again until you eradicate the problem.

You don't throw up your hands and give up and let the flies lie on your children's eyes like it is a Sally Struthers commercial.

We don't need more of the zika virus. Enough of it has already come in to our country. We need to stop the spread as fast as we can.

ndspinelli said...

Wow. Carville could learn from this guy. Don't worry ass eyes, you ain't getting pregnant. And all the taco stands I eat in get an 'A' rating. People who get E-coli eat in the corporate America Chipotle.

ndspinelli said...

Mosquito's could be eradicated if we use DDT. But governments don't allow it because it kills birds. Healthcare workers, liberals almost all, SCREAM that we need to use DDT in areas where there are mosquito borne illnesses.

Or, are we not having an intellectual, fact based discussion here. Is it all emotion[hate] just like the liberals? It seems our Carville is maybe talking about killing all the Mexicans? Just as many as you can? I'm trying to follow his train of hate.

The point of this post is that another large infection of illegals is about to be injected into the bloodstream of America. In the form of unaccompanied children who come to be wards of the state and a drain on our social services safety net. It is a test of our resolve if we want to be a nation of laws where our immigration laws are followed. Or a lawless free for all where the dredges of the earth can be deposited to eat on our check. The choice is clear. They are running to get here because they know that if Trump is elected they will get deported. They will be stopped at the border. They are smart. They believe what Trump is saying. So they want to get theirs while the getting is good.

ndspinelli said...

We agree on probably 80-90% regarding illegal immigration. I just don't hate them like you folks. It's not Christian.

Pointing out that illegal aliens from Central America, South America and Mexico who are poor, often not even Spanish speaking, illiterate and who have come from abysmal hygienic backgrounds and who are carrying diseases, is not hate. It is fact that the health risk from illegal and unscreened invaders is a problem. It has nothing to do with hate. Fact.

Our immigration system in the late 1800's and 1900's routinely would screen incoming immigrants for diseases and if found to be ill or carrying disease they were turned away. You have heard of Ellis Island I presume?

the gateway for over 12 million immigrants to the United States as the nation's busiest immigrant inspection station from 1892 until 1954.

FYI: My family (Grandmother, Grandfather, 1 aunt and 2 uncles) were legal residents of Mexico from the mid 1940's to the late 1960's when she moved for health reasons to San Jose California. Grandfather died in Hidalgo Mexico in the mid 1950' and the family stayed there. Aunt and Uncles went to school and college in Mexico City. I was baptized in the Cathedral of Guadalupe. This stadium is named after my God Father, who was engaged to my Aunt when I was a child. He was a famous and talent athlete. All my relatives are fluent in Spanish.

My father is a published author and wrote several travel guides and books extolling the benefits and joys of living and retiring in Mexico, Central America and South America....among other places.

As a pre teen and through high school we spent every summer in Mexico and many Christmas vacations. Mexico City and Tequisquiapan where my Grandmother owned property. I grew up speaking Spanish and living in Mexico as a toddler. I don't speak it as well as I used to since the opportunity to be immersed is less than it was when I was younger. However, I do understand when it is spoken. An yes. They are probably talking about you :-) I ignore it.

One of my Aunts by marriage is Argentinian and another Uncle is from Puerto Rico. Many of my school girl friends and some boyfriends were hispanic. Growing up in California and with close ties to the Mexican community it is not unusual.

SO you can get off of your fucking self righteous high horse about whether people hate Mexicans or Hispanics. You don't know jack.

edutcher said...

nd, it isn't hate, it's survival.

Before Eisenhower removed them, Hoover did it because of the Depression and Truman did it to help the returning vets after the economic slump at the end of WWII.

The Federal judges (Lefty, of course) who say these people are all entitled to public education, health care, welfare, public housing all on the taxpayer's dime aren't the ones footing the bill. They also don't live with the crime. They also have sinecures, so the jobs they take from people here legally are no problem for them.

We may be the richest country in history, but we've been through a lost decade economically and we're $20 T in debt.

These people can't stay here while our own are hurting because you know as well as everybody here their main function is to stuff ballot boxes so we can have Tippytoes' Permanent Democrat Majority.

This has nothing to do with compassion or Christianity, it has to do with power and you should get that as well as anybody.

WTF does that even mean? I'm guessing he meant:

If someone went to a Catholic Church religiously I KNOW they'd not be getting this poisonous hate from the pulpit. [Present tense, subjunctive mood]

Or:

As someone who goes to a Catholic Church religiously I KNOW they're not getting this poisonous hate from the pulpit. [Present tense, indicative mood]

More history.....

My Grandfather was a large animal veterinarian and a WWI (not 2 but 1) vet. He served in Europe taking care of the horses. It was horrific. The carnage on the animals in WWI. When the hoof and mouth disease broke out in Mexico threatening to destroy not only the Mexican cattle industry but also cross the border and decimate the US cattle industry, he was pressed back into Government service. They sold their newspaper in Ferguson Mo, closed up the Veterinarian business...and moved to Mexico where his job was to work with the Mexican government/Federales to stop the spread of the disease. This required not only innoculations but also the destruction and disposal of many sick cattle.

Needless to say the Mexican peasants at that time did not appreciate the killing of their most valuable livestock and there was much resistance. Death threats, near death experiences. Some of the other US Veterinarians and their assistants were killed. Until the Federales stepped up with a solution, one that appalled and shocked the US workers, it was very very dangerous. The solution? Go into the little town, round up the priests. Put ropes around their necks and threaten to hang them in the zocalo if the Mexicans didn't cooperate, stop hiding their sick cattle and allow the US Vets to do their job. I don't know if any priests were actually hanged. It seems likely that some were. At least the Mexican peasants were pretty sure that it would happen so they cooperated. See. Nothing much has changed since then.

This is the story my father told me anyway. In the early 50's Grandfather passed away in the State of Hidalgo when I was just a tot. I don't remember him at all. Not having a business to return to in Ferguson with 3 children/young adults in school in Mexico, and very much liking the country, as well as being a place where they could live in a much better style than in the US with the income and assets that they had and property that they owned, the family decided to just stay permanently. Go to school, get engaged, set down permanent roots and become a part of the community. Yeah. We just hate Mexicans /facepalm

Here is an interesting book about the history of the outbreak http://www.jstor.org/stable/3740791?seq=1#page_scan_tab_contents You can read on line for free.

We all get fed up on occasion. The Irish and the Spaniards are legendary for it.

Think there was a movie on a similar subject. Once Don Benito broke the power of the Church when he threw out the french, they were never as much part of the government. This, I might add, is why the current Pope feels it necessary to be Che and Mao at the same time.

Wanna hear about my Aunt whose father was a Brown Shirt in the Nazi regime and who disappeared at the end the of WWII?

SA or SS?

After Rohm and all the gay caballeros were iced, the SA was mostly ceremonial, although a lot of the early SS guys, including Dolf's personal bodyguard, were former SA and some with more than a hint of mint.

Dust Bunny Queen said...

LOL Chick. No way related to Inga. This is my aunt by marriage. The youngest uncle from the Mexico clan met her in Germany when he was stationed there working on the Stars and Stripes as a printer. This was about 1958 when they got married. She was born in about 1940 so was a child when her father disappeared.

He was a Stormtrooper/Brown Shirt, I think that is the name. Definitely not SS. Some sort of enforcer/military/cop thing. At least the tale from her mother. My aunt says her mother didn't want to talk about it. He just left and never came back during the surrender or occupation. Maybe he was killed. Maybe he just ran away. Who knows?

They were quite destitute after the war and had practically nothing. Their biggest and most precious item was a bicycle that they could use to go to get food. My aunt really strongly remembered this because when they went to get food which was rationed, her mother would chain her to the bike so that no one would steal it. A bike was valuable. No one would want a little kid or go to the trouble of trying to steal a bike with a kid chained to it. Nice memory, isn't it :-( The bike was more important than you. It made me realize, even then, how lucky we are in the US not to have to have dealt with such grinding poverty and misery.

When they came from Germany after he was discharged, we had them for dinner. I think it was about 1960. My mother made her famous fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and fresh corn on the cob. My aunt was in tears and ran from the room. WTF? My uncle had to explain to her that this was a special welcome meal. She thought she was being insulted because of the War and her being German. Corn on the cob was only served to the pigs and other livestock in Germany. Animal food. She though we were serving her pig food.

SA is Sturm Abteilung, Storm (assault) Detachment.

They were the head busters before Hitler became Chancellor. in the early days, they ran the concentration camp like Dachau and Buchenwald (not to be confused with Auschwitz or Treblinka). It may be he was at one of the camps then and was in the records as having been one of the guys who gave the prisoners Hell.

You have to remember Rohm wanted the kind of revolution Lenin had in Russia and Mussolini had in Italy - state capitalism, and he had a 3-1/2 million man (a lot of them holding hands (not to mention Hans) in what was called "a Greek military existence") army to make it so.

Rohm made a lot of high-profile speeches to that effect and played right into the hands of Goering, Goebbels, and Himmler who saw a chance to get rid of a major rival.

After the Night of the Long Knives, what was left of the SA was mostly ceremonial and the SS took up all its other jobs. Your great-uncle was lucky he lived to see out the war and luckier he made it down the ratline (as they called it) since it was mostly for SS officers.
