Mario Lopes talks about the television show Tanked and the Boys and Girls club.
They installed an aquarium in one of the clubs includes a video game and bike. The kids pedal and create bubbles. The kids LOVE it because they're imagining it helping the fish survive. But it's LIES all LIES the bubbles have nothing to do with that.
Okay, not that video. That was different. They didn't even show it.
A message so important, so urgent for you to know and share that an advertisement is slapped in front of it.
The illusion tank is so impressive I didn't even see it. Did you see it?
He tells Mario, "...pedal and pedal, it releases oxygen into the system." No. And he knows that.
Oxygen is delivered into the system at the surface by surface agitation. The bubbles contribute oxygen only so far as they agitate the surface. The bubbles themselves do little to nothing.
And yet, carbon dioxide IS delivered by bubbles, through sparging, making the bubbles tiny and spreading throughout, and by holding a big bubble underwater so its surface rubs off into the water, and by bubbles rising to the top and shedding molecules as they rise and that's it. Very little carbon dioxide by these bubbles has a huge effect on underwater plants. (along with increased light)
But it's cute and the kids love it and it keeps them busy and engaged.
I sometimes wonder if I would be a happier adult if I had been one of those kids who got one of those plastic, bubble-operated pirate chest/pirate skeleton ornaments for his fish tank and thought it was totally awesome.

That's nice. Made me smile. Kids should be happy. Thank you.

Okay, not that one either.
They seem reluctant to spoil the surprise.
Youtube [tanked, boys and girls club] Good
aerate ≠ oxygenate

Hey, what about me? I wanna go there. Can I take my rod and reel? I see there's fish in the tank ready to be caught.
Adorable little kid. That hair!
