Last night my wife was watching some show on TV, cat on her lap, and I came upstairs from my basement workout to take a break, so I decided to sit down and watch a little.
I thought it was Girls but it turned out that it wasn't.
I think it had Amanda Peet in it, whole really ought to marry some guy named Moss and then hyphenate.
The point is: Watching these chick-oriented comedy/dramas is a lot like watching a foreign film with subtitles. There's a whole lot I'm not getting but that's okay because I can fill in the blanks.
The story gets compartmentalized. For example, on the TV some guy was banging the crap out of some chick from behind, standing up. She was into it. Later on, that same chick had a scene with some guy, and I'm all like, is that the same guy who was banging her?
I find the local news and the national news aren't really there to give us information, but to nanny us, tell us what to think, remind us to drive safely, take our vitamin D, and do this and that in regards to raising our children.

The guy is all over the place. To be ridiculous and to stick with it without letting up, that takes something. If there was another person then they'd be laughing.
I find in general, the left cannot tolerate free speech. But they are happy to nanny you, preach to you, insist you follow their bad faith/blind faith progressive religion....

I watched Mad Men and The Sopranos the same way so I don't want anyone to get the idea it's necessarily a gender-based thing.
It's more like a low expectations thing.
Take what you want and leave the rest.
I try to do the same thing with the intarwebs but I'm not always successful at that.
