According to the press release:
The reinstatement resulted after consultation with Charlottesville Police Department officials, who told the University that their investigation has not revealed any substantive basis to confirm that the allegations raised in the Rolling Stone article occurred at Phi Kappa Psi... (read the whole thing)That's it? No apology? No sorry about our huge mistake and rush to judgment? Keep in mind that the false accusation had consequences for the Phi Psi house, which was vandalized by angry students after Rolling Stone's story broke.

It is still true, however, that Lena Dunham was gang-raped by crazed neo-cons.
Lawyers who will sue the shit out of negligent/malicious people and institutions. Suddenly coming in handy!
Haha. Gang raped by neo-cons. I like the example of the pliable nature of truthiness. It's not longer just one Republican (who wasn't really a Republican but probably just some random guy who failed to toe the party line with absolute brown-shirted consistency). Now it's morphed into multiple neo-cons! The horror.
Ya gotta wonder if this Barry fellow is just someone who turned her down all those years ago and this fiction is her (typically proggily passive-aggressive) vengeance.
Yes, but it was a great teaching opportunity!
By order of the university the new glass topped tables at the frat house have to have shatter proof glass...just in case.
The Tommy Boy Memorial Body-Slamming Innocent Furniture Act.
pliable truthiness. The narrative lives even when the truth is dead!
So what if lives are ruined - the Potemkin narrative marches on with pride.
UVA has deep pockets. I think some sort of defamation suit wold be in order.
Lies or the truth - which get the juice, which pays better, which gets forgotten? Lena Dunham got millions for her book, but the guy she falsely accused, or the men in this slandered frat? I wanna be a lying slut. Is there a degree offered in that?. I know you don't learn it in trade school. College sounds like a very dangerous place for a person of testicle.
Of the people familiar with the story, most still don't understand the catfishing aspect of the story.
Rolling Stone should be sued into bankruptcy by the U VA men who were wrongly accused of raping "Jackie" Jackie should be arrested and charged with makeing false representations, and should serve time in jail.
The idiot who runs U VA should be removed from her job and run out of town. And the U should also be sued, big time. As should the individual faculty members who summarily judged the fraternity guys to be guilty of rape based solely on a manufactured story.
