‘Carry that Weight’ College Demonstration

Today we are carrying mattresses across campus,” said demonstrator Elliot Bomboy ’17. “Mattresses are really heavy. I carried one here from Terra, but the thing is that I would rather carry that mattress to all of my classes everywhere and every day than have to put up with this for one more minute.”
Goals of the demonstrators included, according to literature they handed out, “mandatory, evidence-based education initiatives” and “expulsion as a default sanction for students found responsible of sexual assault.”

“There’s a lot of misinformation about rape… there are statistics that show that false accusations of rape are incredibly rare, the standards of proof that Stanford have are, I believe, adequate,” Schmidt (age 15, event organizer) said.

However Elisabeth Dee ’16, another event organizer, called on the ARP to actively reduce the burden of proof required to find someone guilty of sexual assault. (read more)

Brava!

I think it's all great upper arm exercise and will strengthen their resistance to assault(s). Balancing the load on their heads -- like you sometimes see African woman do -- would be cheating however.

I suppose it would be embarrassing to be carrying a stained mattress wouldn't it?

I don't get it... and I don't want to click through to have it explained to me. OMG.

And I should be doing my homework because I haven't yet and tomorrow is New Mexico Field Geology Day... I think we're going to look at travertines. (Spell check wants that to be transvestites.) Last week we carried cement up a mountain so a bunch of privileged whiners carrying mattresses just impresses the heck out of me.

Really.

Chicklit, You got any technique for drying out CaCl2 and/or NAOH? My microwave would not accept the job offer.

Sorry for the O.T., but the new anti-sexual, anti-fun, anti-male, female infantilization and fascism is too depressing to address.

Just think about the absurdity of rule by people too helpless to take responsibility for their own sexuality.

@bagoh20: Vacuum dessication with drierite. Avoid extreme heat.

N0, I'm not talking about Bill Clinton. That would be O.T.

I'm talking about the young, single girlies who elected Obama, and who keep propping up Dems because their genitals are too hard to manage on their own.
