Is it easier when you don't have to lipread?

The post title is referencing ChipA post "lipreading".

IIRC, Liz determined Chuck wasn't King material and decided to hang on until the kids were ready.

I admired the King's slap down of Hugo Chavez in 2007: ¿Por qué no te callas?

Isn't that the truth about any kids waiting for a family inheritance? You get kids treading water, marking time, growing old but not growing up, waiting for mommy to kick off.

Mommy is often made of sterner stuff and, through the force of her will, lives.

Go Liz!

I love that plain spoken talk. Even when it's flawed, as it is in this context.

This king is favorably praising himself via a comparison to other monarchs.

Reminds me of our own monarch in the white house, right now.

Unless the family name is Menendez. Some kids never learned patience.

Oh yea... they resorted to killing their parents... instead of suing them, like regular folks.

I think Juan Carlos is trying to preserve the constitutional monarchy. Poor Elizabeth is at the end of her walked plank...she cannot hand off the Crown to a grandchild...and her dolt of a son is likely the end of monarchy in Britain.

Just a guess...I couldn't care less.

It hailed here again then rained really hard then abruptly stopped.

Hail to the king! Who reigns really hard. Then abruptly abdicates.

See what I did there?

In an ideal world they all die.

I just moved the 24 carved plasters out of storage, and boy, are they ever
H E A V Y !

Like a Chevy.

And not one of those new Chevys either, an old one, like a '57 Chevy.

I had to take out 14 and put them in the cart separately, just hefting 7 remaining in the box is all I can lift. More chips fell off. It's going to be a bit like a puzzle. That's okay, they're meant to be broken. But I still have to move them into the workroom. But first ... a nap. Jeeze what a workout.

I guess this comes under plain-spoken talk: Candy Crowley strikes again -- watch as she asks John McCain whether Bergdahl, even if it's proved he's a deserter, etc., was any less worth rescuing than the young John McCain.

These people have no shame. None.

chickelit said...

@Lydia: McCain just seemed dismayed about the price of getting Bergdahl back -- did anyone suggest that he be left there?

chickelit said...

I don't think any of the guys in Bergdahl's unit suggested that Bergdahl be left to rot there -- they strongly disagreed with Rice's characterization of him as a hero.

The post Bergdahl swap handling by the white house is following a very familiar and successful pattern.

Just wear out the opposition with a steady diet of obfuscations, prevarications and half truths.

Obama the roper-dope in chief.

The minute we learn that the imprisoned Marine in Mexico had at least some history of anti-American behavior, we will work on his release.

Isn't that the truth.

Why does anyone agree to talk to Candy?

Ignorant troll. Did anyone actually try to rescue John McCain or James Stockdale or Jerimiah Denton?

None of those were suspected of being in Son Tay...that was raided in a purported effort to rescue POW's.

Did you see this, Chip. Holy hell.

Xray...Wow. Just wow. That is something I've never experienced. Thankfully.

A straight up guy from across the pond.

But yeah, Ari, never experienced anything like that myself either, hopefully will never. Just the large car dealer (well, his insurance) lost roughly 115 million.
