It's 90 degrees in San Fran so it must be baking as well as smoking down there. Time for an actual (non-plastic) maragarita? Not too many, though . . . don't want any fried Chicken Little. Keep us posted? if you can.
Closing the schools and keeping the children inside is a good thing when the smoke gets so thick. We haven't had any serious fires in our area for a few years. When we do, they are awful because the terrain is so bad that they mostly just let it burn.
If it gets really bad, wear one of those paper painting masks soaked in a little bit of water.
OMG 90 in SF. They can't handle that. Not used to it. Plus many of the older buildings don't have windows that can even open, much less have air conditioning. Whew.
Sad as I'd be, I'm afraid I'd laugh if the end result bore a strong resemblance to dog. And if those resins heat up and explode, there'll be spilled dippin' sauce dripping all over hell.
