Chip I was in Medellin and Bogota in January 1987 to adopt our son. This was during the height of Pablo Escobar's reign of terror. Despite the fear in the air, the food, people, landscape and beer is a wonderful experience. Medellin, besides being the cocaine capitol of the world @ the time, is also the orchid capitol of the world. Much of the flowers bought in the US florist shops are Colombian.
