There’s another quirk in the Obama administration’s new health insurance system: It lacks a way for consumers to quickly and easily update their coverage for the birth of a baby and other common life changes.
With regular private insurance, parents just notify the health plan. Insurers will still cover new babies, the administration says, but parents will also have to contact the government at some point later on.

It’s not just having a new baby that could create bureaucratic hassles, but other life changes affecting a consumer’s taxpayer-subsidized premiums. The list includes marriage and divorce, a death in the family, a new job or a change in income, even moving to a different community.
Such changes affect financial assistance available under the law, so the government has to be brought into the loop.

People with Medicaid increased their use of both, primary care and costlier emergency room services.

This comes as old news to those of us who decided long ago that having children isn't worth the hassle.
It has come to this, Comrades. We must report to the Central Government when we get a divorce, get married, change jobs, have children, move to another county. We are also subject to any kind of search for the crime of driving, walking or breathing within 100 miles of the Border and must show "our papers".
Right now it is only report and show papers. Soon it will be get permission to do any of the above. Traveling more than 70 miles from your designated living quarters will require a permit.
I just hope our Government issued uniforms and work clothes have better fashion sense than the ones our Comrades in Russia had to wear.
Speaking of which I have noticed a trend towards quilted winter coats - the have all the flair that one would see in downtown Peking back in the '70s. Coincidence? I think not.
