Update: "After denial, White House now says Obama lived with uncle"

"The White House acknowledged Thursday that President Obama lived with his uncle for a brief period in the 1980s while he was a student at Harvard Law School -- despite previously saying there was no record of the two having met."
"The president did stay with him for a brief period of time until his apartment was ready," White House spokesman Eric Schultz said in a statement. "After that, they saw each other once every few months, but after law school they fell out of touch. The president has not seen him in 20 years, has not spoken with him in 10. "

I am shocked - this is the first time Obama has ever lied. Shame on him!

Kudos to the people yesterday who stuck their neck out on behalf of Uncle Omar, disbelieving the word of the dear leader.

prescient ;)

Is there a record of Obama himself claiming he didn't know the uncle, or was that just the story the WH staffers put out? If it's the latter, President Period. can just blame the staffers for fucking up his story. Hey, he's done it before! And this time it might even be true, though I'd doubt it.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Whatever Obama says, Jake Taper should wait a day or two, before releasing it.

maybe I should tweet him, help out the beleaguered WH spokesman.

YoungHegelian said...

Can someone explain to me why someone would bother to deny knowing their uncle who lived in the same town as them for years? I mean, doesn't ignoring your family for apparently no good reason make you look like even more of a shit?

I've gone way past the point of suspecting that the Obamatrons are insane. For some time now, I've been certain of it.

That depends entirely on the family, and family members, in question.

Uncle Omar had everything to lose if he even implied Obama was a liar, but he told the truth as he knew it anyway.
Can we keep Uncle Omar and send nephew Barack packing off to darkest Kenya?

Lydia said...

I am such a dope for giving the jerk the benefit of a doubt yesterday. But never, ever again.

Unlike others here, prescient I obviously ain't.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

I believed the uncle, but I hesitated to unequivocally put it on the record, because of the nature of Uncle Omar's situation.

I mean, what would you do in his shoes?

The president's uncle was about to be deported... would he say something to keep him here?

It turns out he was telling the truth and the president of the united states ... well, you know the rest.

The Dude said...

We are so lucky we get to keep both of them - the illegal one and his uncle.

Lydia said...

And my apologies to Uncle Omar.

You know, Obama and his staff aren't very good liars. If you are going to lie at least keep consistent in your stories. Try to remember what you said in the past and REALLY try to be aware of what people can prove or not prove.

They lie about everything. Not just the big important stuff but also the little things.

Sick.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Can we keep Uncle Omar...

Oh shoot, you know what's going on here with the Uncle?

This is Obama's way of distracting everybody.

You know Fox is trying right now to snatch Uncle Omar for the evening shows.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

the illegal one and his uncle.

lol.

AllenS said...

We've been trying to deport the wrong one.

Chip Ahoy said...

The pattern is political defensiveness. Early the handlers are reacting to the idea of the uncle hurting Obama, how the association could be attacked by Republicans, and they think that because they are imagining the sort of things they would do with information and projecting that onto Republicans not that they're wrong, but it is protection.

Like Carter's brother.

And they were right!

Drunken driving?

[obama's dad death] I did not know this:

* Kenyan President Jomo Kenyatta destroyed his career
* Kenyatta fired him
* blacklisted (in Kenya)
* drank heavily
* car accident
* visited Obama in Hawaii 1971 developed bad leg
* deteriorated into drinking and poverty
* lost both legs in second automobile accident
* lost job
* another son, George
* died in car crash

conclusion: alcohol, 3 very serious car wrecks.

All that just because he got fired? He lived all over the place, he wasn't stuck in that country he says he was blacklisted. He says he was blacklisted. We're familiar with grievances, maybe he wasn't, and maybe he was, but he certainly was not stuck unless he insisted on being stuck there himself. Easier to have drinks and blame everyone else. That is my opinion and I am stuck on it.

I think the papers should just report when he tells the truth.
#newsworthy

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

You know... and this is highly speculative on my part.. maybe Obama heard Muammar, instead of Omar, and he thought... oh shit this guy is back from the dead... and he is probably pissed at me.

'No, I never met with him, never saw him, didn't know him, had nothing to do with him.'

It wasn't until the next day that he realized they were talking about uncle Omar... and not Muammar Gaddafi.

Icepick said...

I think the papers should just report when he tells the truth.

Pogo, they'd never have anything to report. And unfortunately, his lies are consequential to the fate of the nation.

In other words?

We're screwed.

Fuck, I forgot to say "asshole". Asshole, asshole, asshole!

What, that was another thread?

Family loyalty is a huge deal with African Americans. Dissing his white grandmother was one thing, but denying even knowing his black uncle... If this news actually gets out there, it will be interesting to see if he takes a noticeable hit in the polls with them.

He just misspoke again. Stop asking him stuff, and he won't have to lie so much, you racist haters.

Lem the artificially intelligent said...

Stop asking him stuff,

That's another... I don't know if it can be called bombshell anymore... Obama rarely meets with people who it is assumed he would meet regularly.

Obama only met with Sibelius one time in the past three years. The woman responsible for implementing Obamacare.

When I was in college, we used to have a saying when someone was lying to us. "Don't piss on my leg". The obvious notion being you could tell they were lying and if you told to quit lying they would deny they were. You can't hide pissing on someone's leg.

So here's my question, why is the media going to stop letting the White House piss all over them. I realize they feel some desire to cover the White House, but you would think at some point they would say, "Forget your press conference, because it's just a bunch of fantasy's you expect us to pass along for you." And instead, actually just report the obvious activities right in front of them.

But then, it doesn't really matter to me. I realized long ago the media was all to willing to pass along BS frankly from both sides of the aisle. So I skip their fantasies all together.

The Dude said...

That's rain.

A generous golden rain from our generous golden Dear Leader, racist!

Obama is pissing on everyone's head.

@Leland,

When I was in college, we used to have a saying when someone was lying to us. "Don't piss on my leg".

Did you go to heavily Jewish college or in an heavily Jewish area? I'm thinking of the old old Yiddish saying "you can't piss up my back & make me think it's rain" & apparently there's a "piss on my leg" variant of that, too.

The Dude said...

Speaking of old sayings, I doubt if Obama could pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were printed on the heel.

I like Texas.

Yes, that's the problem. They look at the optics for everything instead of the truth.

Everybody knows that Nelson Mandela was Obama's uncle.

Leland said...

Well Manziel is a Jewish name, but I wouldn't consider the school particularly Jewish. Since my education in grammar leads me to write fantasy's rather than fantasies, I won't mention the school's name outright.

Chris Matthews says he felt a tingle up his leg when he heard Obama speak.
Tonight, he may feel a tinkle on his leg.
And he'll love it.

A bit OT...I just got a call from one of Ted Cruz's campaign and policy wonks...vis a vis Obamacare. I had a nice conversation with the young lady, including mentioning Rep Issa's bipartisan HR 3319 & the FEHBP and she listened courteously. I promised a $100 e-check from my bank tomorrow morning, which satisfied her requested level + a bit, to the address I asked for ...but I will send $500.

Why you say? Because he didn't wilt like a month old lily on many subjects. May not change shit, but I'll back a guy who isn't a punk.

Little by little, now that the dam has been breached, it all comes out (think Robert Shaw and Harrison ford in "Force 10 From Navarone").

What would be interesting if this little tidbit also turns out to be true.

Supposedly, it's in William Ayers' new book, but no one knows, for sure.

Yet.

If it is true, Ayers and the hag better start thinking about spending the rest of their lives underground.

Amartel said...

What if it is all true. Would Obamacare still exist as a law? (Personally, I long ago convinced myself that Obama is Hawaiian born and the various references to foreign birth originated in a scheme to pass himself as "foreign" for academic promotion purposes and also because I suspect he thinks of himself as "foreign" so it's just typical progressive utopian I-can-be-whoever-I-want-to-be thinking.)

Chip Ahoy said...

Edutcher, if only he had provided the name of the book.

Come on.

Instead he accuses people of not reading them. How odd. And then accuses people of not reading forwards to books. Not so. We do read forwards. But we must have the book to do that, and he does not provide the name.

Otherwise we'd get on abebooks and buy it for a couple cents.

Fail.

AllenS said...

IIRC, the "was born in Kenya" came from his high school classmates who said that that's what Obama told them. I doubt if Obama knows where he was born, and he could have cared less about the subject, until the whole "you need to be a citizen" thingy came up and from that, a birth certificate had to be provided.

I'm at the point where I don't believe anything about Obama.

There's been far too many people providing cover for this fraud, that anything is possible.

edutcher said...

Chip, you get no argument from me.

To say I'm skeptical is putting it mildly.
