"Now the law’s backers face the convergence of three different centers of unhappiness: unhappiness with the bungled website rollout, unhappiness with a mix of cancellations and price increases by customers in the individual insurance market, and unhappiness on the part of millions of rubes (aka ‘voters’) that the proponents of the new health care system concealed potential deal breaking features while they were selling the law."
All this has plunged the White House into the deepest hole of the Obama presidency to date, but the biggest shock isn’t about the cruddy rollout, the kludgy law or the disingenuous sales job by which it was passed. The biggest shock and the most damning revelation came in the President’s hasty and awkward press conference when President Obama responded to a reporter’s question about his knowledge of the website’s problems:
OK. On the website, I was not informed directly that the website would not be working as — the way it was supposed to. Ha[d] I been informed, I wouldn’t be going out saying, boy, this is going to be great. You know, I’m accused of a lot of things, but I don’t think I’m stupid enough to go around saying, this is going to be like shopping on Amazon or Travelocity, a week before the website opens, if I thought that it wasn’t going to work.
This was eyepopping. Obamacare is the single most important initiative of his presidency. The website rollout was, as the President himself has repeatedly stated, the most important element of the law’s debut. Domestically speaking there was no higher priority for the President and his staff than getting this right. And the President is telling the world that a week before the disaster he had no idea how that website was doing.
Reflect on that for a moment. The President of the United States is sitting in the Oval Office day after day. The West Wing is stuffed with high power aides. His political appointees sit atop federal bureaucracies, monitoring the work of the career staff around them. The President has told his core team, over and over, that the health care law and the website rollout are his number one domestic priorities.
And with all this, neither he nor, apparently, anyone in his close circle of aides and advisors knew that the website was a disaster.

Puts on a good show? Awful executive? Manipulated by powerful aides who keep him in the dark?
Maybe we could use an "Obama is like Hitler" tag.
He is lying. Again.
He was told, probably repeatedly.
But like other utopians, only a bitchslap by cold hard reality has any effect.
And then he lied to cover up his prior lie. I don't understand why anyone listens to a word Obama says anymore.
Everything he says is a lie, including 'and' and 'the'.
He is unable to be truthful.
Cannot do so.
Cannot.
When he speaks, I just insert the voice of Charlie Brown's teacher: Waah wah wah wah wah, wah wah wah waah."
Obama is bullshit personified.
Like the anti-Jesus.
Bullshit becomes man.
Still, you can't beat the perks.
I read the other day that one hour's flight time on Air Force One is $180,000.
Nice work, if you can get it.
This strikes directly at his utter fecklessness, aloofness, and rancid incompetence. Another example of how he has never run nor managed a thing in his life other than his corrupt career as a politician and radical leftist marxist tool. We have a nincompoop for a president and he displays it daily. The accounts of him being 'present' at this point must be true. His utter failure to meet with his intelligence heads, his utter failure to handle Benghazi correctly, his utter failure at understanding an iota of the contradictory nature of his hallmark healthcare legislation. We have an unmitigated idiot running this country along with his leftist cohorts spaghetti splattering their ideas on the oval office walls and foisting them on us.
Fuck he might as well have just said this and been done with it:
It wasn't me, it was the one armed man!
Seems amazing, but it is not. He's the Diversity hire. The job of the Diversity hire is not to be competent, or even to work. The job of the Diversity hire is to make white liberals feel good, to make fine speeches and to inspire the greater goal of social justice.
I've been second in command to the Diversity hire three times in my working career. Same pattern always prevails.
I'm not saying that Obama is stupid. In fact, he played the Diversity game brilliantly. He just was never expected to work or to be competent, so he never bothered. He worked at inspiring whites with great speeches and ideals, and at posing as if he were God, so as to increase the self-esteem of blacks.
The underlying logic of all liberalism for my entire life has been that ending racism, or whatever form of bigotry, was the key to fixing everything. Obama is the incarnation of that myth.
He must be astonished that, in the endgame of his career, competence is being required of him. Who knew that would ever be a consideration?
Of course he knew, but what are you going to do? The central premise of the whole thing is a lie. That the government, run by a cabal of second rate lawyers, career apparatchiks, skimmers, and recent Political Science grads is gonna build the most complicated system in history that will manage all the most sensitive and individual of needs for 330 million people was absurd from the start.
He and the others who did this were just too stupid to realize that ahead of time. Once they sold the absurdity, which surprised them, they were stuck with it.
Obama, has a life history that has informed him that no matter how poor his ideas or performance, he will always land on his feet somehow. He's doesn't need to know how that magic happens, but it always does... until it doesn't. He always left the failure behind and moved on quickly, but now there is nowhere left to go. The ultimate demonstration of the Peter Principle.
The dumb ones around him believed in the magic, and the smarter ones didn't have the balls to do what was right, because they knew the dumb ones were running things and would just run them under the bus.
Stupidity + cowardice = guaranteed failure. We chose poorly, twice.
Hey ST, Oprah says we all gots to die before racism goes away.
Maybe she could do a new show on her network, Knockout King, where racially oppressed young black men clock unaware old crackers.
First kill wins.
@Pogo
This cracker is hanging around for a long time to irritate Fatso Oprah.
You better be ready for a fight if you wanna clock this old cracker.
There was a movie starring George Peppard a long time ago. Ah, here it is, The Blue Max (1966).
It tells the story of an arriviste fighter pilot who's turned into a hero for propaganda purposes but he fucks up so his manipulators grease him to make him into a martyr before he disgraces the war effort.
There's a sex scene in it, as I recall, even though I was just a little kid at the time.
The NBC interview is the Shaggy Defense.
This administration was not ready for primetime from day One!
“But even if we get the hardware and software working exactly the way it’s supposed to with relatively minor glitches, what we’re also discovering is that insurance is complicated to buy.” (Barack Obama November 14, 2013)
We have never had a dumber or more arrogant president.
I'm not saying Obama is stupid.
He's stupid. Stupid and vicious. Can't beat that combo for doing damage.
Wait for the sticker shock. that's the real third revelation.
Anyone who listened to Cavuto while they were crafting this mess knew what was coming.

With Ursula Andress.
Small wonder you remembered.
